December 11th 2019 Snow Potential

Ha Ha Sroc..sorry the kids did not get their delay!! On too the next...and hopefully they will soon! It's funny how I got 1/2 inch in my back yard and as you know I live directly on the water. I drove my son to school this am and a few blocks going inland... they had an inch or more of snow and it looked like a winter wonderland on the grass and trees.Is that the effect of the warm waters?(not a complaint...just curious)

I say come on Mother Nature...Mugs' birthday is coming!!

Without a doubt, especially now when the ocean is still so warm, relatively speaking of course.

I've seen a similar effect in places right next to the Hudson river this time of year, although most likely to a lesser degree than you would get next to a large body of water like the Atlantic.

Painted trees, one of the most beautiful and long lasting sceneries in a while... still coated now, not much has fallen off or melted, love it!

Actually one of the only aspects of "wet" snow v.s. "dry" snow where I prefer the wet snow: The way the snow sticks to the trees providing scenes like this. Of course the downside is that it often causes downed tree limbs and power outages, but mostly only for our bigger wet snowstorms. Therefore, for snow events 3" and under I think I prefer wet snow and 4" or more dry snow (especially if I have to shovel).
