It’s cold as heck out

Wish we had something to track. Still thinking there’s a SB/Val storm lurking…

Watch this freezing drizzle verify tomorrow morning and catch everyone off-guard.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS
MORNING...

* WHAT...Freezing rain. Ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE...Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk and Southeast
Suffolk Counties.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are
possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning
commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible
power outages.

Check local Department of Transportation information services for
the latest road conditions.

A bit cooler here at 21 but same story. I may be closing the barn door after the animals got out but I bought ice cleats to wear. Impossible to walk on the frozen pack for any reason. Can’t put out compacted trash nor get mail. All sone by car. Roads are glazed a bit now but even that is better than old snow which is like slippery cement

Light snow. Light glaze of freezing rain to slicken the roads. 28.3/27.5.

Low levels cold enough to support snow for a bit so see if any accumulations can occur.

Beautiful light snow - had a moderate burst for about a 1/2 hour up here in Allendale - heavy coating - 1/4" by eye.
Nice surprise and saw this last night as the NAM's were honking.

Nice! Hope it stays snow!

Had a light glaze this morning. Now 33 and a cold rain....

Moderate snow about 1/4" so far.  You can see the push of WAA at the lower levels in response to low pressure going through GL area.  This is my season of the small stuff and I will gladly take any snow Mother Nature decides to throw my way.

Call it a 1/4" with a nice coating.

Intermittent rain/snow showers likely throughout the day



Look for steady rain to breakout along the shore and long island around 7pm this evening, and continue into most of tomorrow. Pretty ugly rain day for most of the state tomorrow, with chances for more sleet and wintry precip across NNJ and N&W of NYC.

Compliments of the antecedent cutter.  This would be 4-6" for coastal folks if not for the cold air getting eroded.  Tonight's storm track is ideal for coastal folks, but it won't develop quickly enough to dynamically cool the column.  It's all about the luck or lack thereof in this case...  

Got 1/4" from the little event this morning, now at 34* and a light drizzle.

Trees are still ice-covered. 31 degrees and flurrying

That track is golden for a white storm not rain!! So goes winter.
1/2" up here before the melt.

33* and lots of black ice this morning on roads and my driveway, sidewalk was a thin sheet of ice. ABS kicked in 2x just down my block.
What a surprise storm this would have been IF of course we had colder air in place.
