This could be one heck of cold shot for mid October, big discharge of arctic air - BIG NAO Block and West Coast Ridge along with EPO block over Alaskan region

Yes! use it all the time and I made dinner in it yesterday..enough left over for Tuesday...there should be no questions asked...we are up against the clock this year. Love the cold possibly coming in faster..but on flip side have to work harder to get my projects done and I usually seal the deck every couple of years the week we got Ian leftovers...so now in a hurry..dkodgis wrote:Crock pot is your friend, mom

Yard work? Doc, if you lived closer, you’d have a 40 hour workweek
Beautiful out. 55 degrees. Another night with the windows open

mugs that's WPC, that's for excessive rainfall. SPC has a marginal risk for t-storms for jersey and scraping NYC.amugs wrote:Slight risk for sever weather Thursday

Re: Rocktober Obs & Discussions
Happy Tidings all! Wow, it took me like 3 days to read all the posts just from the start of the Ian discussion- so much good stuff in there, thanks! Down here in Bayville, I think that last week we hit that 8-10" mark that someone in here alluded to a few days ago. It was amazing how the heavy rains just kept coming. And the call seemed to be for Tuesday to be the end of it, but clear into Wednesday evening it went on and on...lol.
(Doc- I wonder if the Shore might be STILL locked in to that sweet spot! )
Either way, I'm gonna continue to soak up all this heavenly fall weather while it's still here! So, here's to everyone's health and fortunes for the upcoming season (and beyond) and may our winter be filled with fun trackings and bullseyes and a positive PNA for all.

Hey, SE, that storm dumping all that rain on you could be a little hint of the upcoming pattern.Way too early and we will be observing closely.

64 here now. Rain has been steady, light. Radar suggests it will get heavier within the hour. Right now it is about a 1/2 inch. I’ll take it but I expected more already and then some. I am remanding myself to the Well of Wishcasting, in penance for my impertinence.

MJO going into Phase 6 n 7 towardsbthen2nd half of Rocktober. Bigly Cold Shot next week. Lake Effect snow machine opens up.
Okay battle of models for last week of Rocktober. MJO maps support th3 GFS but a blend would be interesting. WURO would have a Sandy/Hazel blend track.
MJO Phase 6 BN Temps next week
MJO Phase 7 N temps as the big ol trough retrogrades west as we are about N
Euro says no

Mugs, I see numbers at the bottom of the images but I don’t know what the images mean. What do they mean in words?
