Anything CNN or mainstream media is down right hogwash at best...But winter is warming rapidly because of human-caused climate change
Unfort while the truth that winters, in certain areas but not all, are warming the narrative that the reasoning behind is settled as stated in the quote above causes me to throw out 98% of this article. That is all. Sorry Damian, the idea that this topic is settled is just plain false. That is not science. Science is never settled.
That is all

People can choose or not choose to see certain changes. And while there's a lot of debate of what's going on, the truth is "losing its bite" I think is the best way to describe it. Its still there, but just isn't the same. Climate changes of ice periods and warmth period have always happened, but with each cycle they are happening quicker and ending quicker also.

Anyway, after that bleak month: all at Central Park here:
Jan 2-3 Stormy-Snow, sleet and freezing rain mar the end of a long holiday weekend
Jan 10-Heavy Snow-Over 6 inches of snow in the City and up to 10 inches in suburbs.Dept. of Sanitation puts emergency snow regulations into effect .
Jan 16-Heavy Snow-Low temperatures and high winds produce near-blizzard conditions. Dept. of Sanitation puts emergency snow regulations into effect for second time in a week.
Jan 23-24-Stormy-3 to 5 inch layer of snow, sleet, and freezing rain cripples surface transportation.Fourth consecutive snowy weekend and ninth consecutive weekend with precipitation.(there was that moisture flow present for weeks like this year)
How do I know this all happened? I was there to observe it all,LOL.

Love that area, my Italian born wife, near Ripi, lived on Hoffman Street near there for a time, and shopping on Arthur Ave. is like stepping into Heaven.
Love that tradition there frank, all the best enjoying it

Nice! We do the 7 fishes also, heading to Mom's later to start prep work, at 88 it's too hard for her to do it by herself. Wish we still had a good Italian store in the area, they've been replaced by Uncle Guiseppe's (which isn't too bad, but not the same)

I woke up to the sound of rain this morning, but that’s okay, it’s still Christmas.
Hoping for some snow in 2024.
