Dec 16 Just a little change can make the difference

Disappointing to ee all that snow just to west. Im far enough north but looks like the warm air is just riding up the hudson river valley warming things enough to melt the snow before it reaches the ground

Just when I think it couldn’t snow any heavier, it does. Radar showing bright yellow over me. Not so sure on how much we have here now but looks like at least 6 inches so far.

Good for those getting snow. It has been a bust in Dutchess county In HV. The downsloping and shadowing prevailed over a colder solution. I'm 20 miles north of 84 and had mostly rain and zero accums. CMC/RGEM were spot on and GFS was very wrong. I never believed numbers that GFS was spewing in Poughkeepsie area but was expecting a couple of inches but so far getting shut out. I'm hoping as low pulls east we can get a few hours of rain changing to snow later Friday afternoon/ Friday night.

Worked in westchster this evening. Could see some very wet flakes mixed in. Just drove home north on taconic. When I reached Fahnestalk State park in Putnam county I encountered snow. The taconic parkway reaches 1000' elevation here. Not sure how low the snow was in eleveation but i would estimate at least 700'. A few accidents as drivers encountered slushy roads almost out of nowhere.

Approximately 6 inches, very hard to measure, just stopped snowing at 11:22, temperature is 32 degrees.

Midnight. It has not yet changed over. 32 degrees.
If it changes over, it will happen later and the timing must be surprising as it seems many thought the rain would come much earlier

Woke up to find the overnight rain has melted all the snow from yesterday and from last weekend.  All gone.

Wow the wind howling.so sad this turned out to be a rainstorm hopefully next week we get a snowstorm it will be nice to have a white cold Christmas for once

i had to sleep in the basement because my room is facing towards the Long Island sound

The wind last night was impressive. I was impressed

Looking out my window here in dutchess I see no wind. Also no wind when I went to bed a little after midnight nor did I hear any through the night.

The storm ended up being a bust here. It started great, then it dry slotted before it warmed up. Now what little snow fell is being eaten up by rain and I'm left hoping that it doesn't get cold enough to freeze. Disappointing, but weather's gonna weather so now I grab the pom poms and hope you guys get the Christmas storm.

It was actually quite calm here, the wind advisory goes until tonight I believe so maybe it hasn't kicked it yet. Otherwise it is pouring (some said precip is done? Well not here, it sucks outside sorry to sound like a debbie downer but I don't like getting soaked going to work. Heres to hoping the coast can see snow from this next storm, 00z and 06z kept it mainly offshore but doesnt look like it will take much to give us a whopper.

So a bit more than 8 inches here. It slopped during the night. Much of it went bye-bye. What is left is slush. Looks like 4-5 inches of ground cover. It was nice while it lasted and still nice since I don't have to shovel

Snowing hard now, 35 degrees , not sticking to roads

39* raining on this long ass trip to Boston...( Son applied to 3 schools in Boston better get used to this if he gets accepted) it's a long trip.

34 degrees and changing to snow. more snow then rain. lets hope we can recoat the ground since we lost what we had from the rain
