If it is a lot of rain then you have the threat of all that pooling water freezing over for the morning commute.

Freezing pellets and windy here with some thunder and lightening. 32.7*. I'm getting some pretty good gusts now.

I don't care that it's washing snow away, this is some of the most intense storms I've seen in a winter storm, it's very dynamic, strikes every 45 seconds for a period, haven't seen one in about 3 minutes here but it's insane. Love the weather, don't care if it's snow or not.

NJ, does all this craziness move into my area not seeing any precip or lightning. Also the earlier HRRR, is that additional snow? Like really hudson valley possibly another 2 feet? It says initialized 4pm till the morning.

BTW this happened in Baltimore too, they got a period of heavy rain/storms a couple hours ago then the rest of the CCB came through and they're heavy snow now, if the ULL moves NE we're set, however if it continues north we may get dry slotted again after the rain and the snow will stay to our west, look at the radar imagry, I'm 50/50 now.

What's up sroc? Man my snow really got squashed here in Aquebogue. The plus side is I had very little to shovel when I got home tonight. I'm still at 36F.sroc4 wrote:Yeah this sucker is going to get cranking. Notice the radar starting to fill in over eastern PA in the last few frames, and notice the R/S line moving W to E pretty fast. I will prob be too far east out herein Wading River, but I hope I still get an aditional 3-6. You boys and girls from Westen LI to NJ/PA boarder and the HV Buckle Up!!

Look at the velocity, the atmosphere is very unstable, winds are veering, I've never seen this in a winter storm.

Baltimore/DC are blitzing right now. Once that ULL lifts northeast, we will be good. Plenty of precip left. Not worried.

Yea it is, typically it is stable like the shape of the ying yang, when you see veering and purple shades it shows instability and conviction, major thing used to track tornadoes.

FYI to make a " ° " like "26°"after your numbers Make sure the "Num Lock" is "On" then just hit the "Alt" button and keep it pressed while typing in 0176 on the Number pad, that's it
