This is not good, I don't want to lose power, it takes all the fun out of a storm when you lose power.

My concern too - jeez this storm is one for the record books that is for sure and these Nor'easters have a mind of their own!

According to NWS for me they say sleet until 10, then heavy snow until 4 AM, 4 to 8 inches

Doc:

Frank and the NWS are the only people that have had a handle on this storm. Frank seems confident of the change also so I'll bet on them.

CP, first thing I do when I move up to Monroe is get a natural gas powered Generac generator big enough to do the entire house.Don't care if it costs 10 grand.I will NEVER go without power for 8 days like with Sandy ever again.

Great idea Doc, but only oil here, I'm about 1 mile north of central valley golf course, they never ran natural gas lines to east side of route 32.

Rain has stopped in northeast nj and NYC for the most part. This precip down in DC and SNJ will lift north. By the time it does, temps should be cold by then. Won't be till much later though. 00z nam was saying after midnight

The band is def rotating east you can see on the map:

http://tempest.aos.wisc.edu/radar/us3compjs.html

I think Frank and others were right HV and maybe southern westchester get crushed again, but it may be ice with the snow which is worse.

6ABC Philadelphia just said that this thing is filling in much further back than expected......saying the snow is now expected to last almost until dawn around these areas beginning around 10-11 PM tonight.

850"s in west NJ - totally over to snow in Hackettstown, NJ and heading our way!!

This is insane everyone - Doc 1994 OMG!

Staying in dumont nj today (bergen county). The temps here just won't drop. Still stuck in the mid 30s. Rain just chewing through today's totals in some areas.
