Mugsy hit the nail on the head.I know I'm always bringing up the old days, but back in the 50's, there was not this materialistic culture that we have today,people di not have the money they do today, and families were closer and THAT was the true meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas.....being with the family.My Grandparents lived downstairs in our house.For crying out loud, a buddy told me the other day Home Depot is putting out Christmas items already!!! Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!!!!

I notice the weird changes already. But I like the banner as it is at the moment with that autumn theme.

Also, I not sure if it was just me, but when you first created this forum in January 2013 (which at the time was the "NYC Metro Weather Forum"), the selection bar near the top (i.e. Home, Calendar, etc.) was nothing but icons containing the "broken image". This is why at first, the forum was difficult to navigate through and I still spent more time on the 7-online forum (As bad as it was) than I did here. Then, the day after the tricky to forecast March 7th-8th 2013 snow event (which was supposed to pound DC but gave next to nothing to them), you gave the forum a makeover which not only fixed the aforementioned problem, but gave the forum a new name: The NJ Strong Weather Forum! Soon, I would spend much less time on the trolly 7-online board and more. By mid-June, I stopped using the old board. There was a brief re-lapse in using it months later, but that was because it was announced that it would shut down. In fact, after the founding of this forum, only twice Frank did you go on that old site. One was right before "Nemo" in February 2013 to promote this forum and the Chat feature. The other was that August after the aforementioned announcement regarding the old board and you brought up two points: That the trolls of the old board made it difficult to go there and that the users should come to this site as it contains fair moderators, both of which are true. I think once the board officially shut down on 10/7/13, more users found their way here which helped to grow the NJ Strong community.

I look forward to seeing the completed changes!

How is everyone liking the redesign of the forum? Do you like the color schemes?

Last thing I want to do is add a Radars tab, more models, and model times.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY. For the old timers out there, on a sad note, John Zacherle passed away at age 98, a New York Area classic who had a radio show on WCBS-FM on Halloween Night for many years.If you remember him, you are in my league,LOL!

Last time I went out Trick or Treating was Halloween 1962 dressed as a Union Civil War soldier.Damn, I wish I was a kid again especially on days like this!!!!!

You think you're experiencing craziness, well I spent the last two weekends in Pennsylvania, State College last weekend and Wilkes-Barre the weekend before that. When I was at the restaurants, every few seconds featured a presidential ad on both sides.

You cannot use the weather on Election Day here in 2016 as an excuse, please, get out and VOTE!!!

To our Veterans those who are alive and have passed protecting our rights and freedoms. THANK you for giving your time, efforts and in some cases life. I will always stand for you and honor you as i say the Pledge of Allegiance each day at work. God Bless those vets who are with us today and I can not say thank you enough. Maybe the protesters and rioters will have the same allegiance as I and many TRUE Americans have for the the sacrifices you have given.

These protests are nothing more than a temper tantrum organized by radical left groups. For eight years they had their way and no one did what hey are doing now in public. The rules don't apply to them. What we need is a bunch of good old TRUMP supporters showing up and marching in the opposite direction then watch them cry and run away. Punks!!!

Jimmy, as a teacher I think you are in the drivers seat in observing why these youngsters are so bitter and angry about Clinton's defeat.As a political Independent, I would offer the following reasons to the protesting youngsters about why the election went so badly for them.

1-Not nominating Joe Biden who would have easily beaten Trump by attracting moderate Republican and Independents

2-The DNC throwing Bernie under the bus.Bernie actually polled better than Clinton to beat Trump

3-Nominating a candidate shrouded in corruption with the Clinton Foundation

4-Candidate Clinton's big error in calling half of Trump supporters deplorables

5-Candidate Clinton's failure to articulate exactly what policy in correcting the economy instead she attacked Trumps as a person

6-Clinton running on a platform of continuing the Obama Administration whose faults are

     A) Economic growth way less than 3% when he himself promised 3 to 4 percent
     B) Shoving Obamacare down the people's throats without a single Republican vote.
     C) Mid East in a shambles as a result of Secretary Clinton's policies including 4 dead in Benghazi
     D)Racial relations the worst since the 1960's, and I lived through it so I know
     E) Russian reset engineered by Obama and Clinton resulted in Putin grabbing a chunk of the Ukraine, establishing a base
         in Syria and installing nuclear missles in Kalningrad within range of Europe.
     F) Terror attacks continue with improper vetting of Muslims who turned out to be terrorists
G) Dodd-Frank banking law which has made qualified borrowers attempts at obtaining loans much more difficult.

Could not have said it better myself Doc. And I too am an independent!!! However I do believe that today's generation of entitlement and lack of social skills plays a HUGE role.

Jimmy, they are blaming Trump and Trump voters, but all the fault lies with the Democrat party and the DNC as I articulated in my post above.They should be protesting in front of Clinton's house, the White House and DNC Headquarters.

On another note, I went up to Roscoe on the Beaverkill last Monday.Got skunked, water just so low up there.Had the whole joint to myself, though, you fly guys were all gone.Nothing hatching at 35 degrees,lol!

Bad drought. My favorite river the Esopus is actually closed. Lowest levels ever recorded. DEP afraid of fish kill it's so low. I was up there yesterday with my parents
