I am not sure what I will do if I am not following everyone on this board! You mean I have to talk to my husband?
Thanks to the experts here -- I have a nice cache of weather knowledge thanks to you all.

Looks like more redevelopment taking place in NEPA. While the bulk of the snow should end over the next 1-2 hours, linger snow showers possible until 7-8pm

1. Mom back in Cranford is saying between 8-9" of snow accumulated. She may be worse than the Zookeeper, so if someone could verify that, it would be appreciated (I think it's still snowing there, though)
2. My excitement for this storm propelled last night when I released a blog showing the drastic differences models took to get to where we are today. The mid and upper levels aligned almost perfectly to deliver a general 6-10" snowfall for the NYC Metro, NJ, east PA (not including NEPA), and southern CT areas. I will not be surprised to see a report of 10"+ somewhere within those areas.
3. There were sharp cut-offs, much sharper than I expected, to the N&W. As good as radar seemingly looked, there was an area of dry air in the upper atmosphere that consumed much of the moisture. Not enough forcing was able to make it that far north. For that reason, my final call snow map busted for most of you guys and I apologize for that. In fact, if everything on my snow map shifted about 50-70 miles to the south & east, it would have verified 100%. That said, NWS and local Mets were late to the party once again busting too low for most of us.
4. This may or may not have been our last winter event of the season. If it was, I want to thank you all for participating and being a part of the NJ Strong Wx family. I know some people like to take off once the weather gets warm - and somewhat boring. We have had a couple of get together's already and I look forward to having more and meeting new people.
You did a great job again Frank. How the heck could you predict dry air up north, not possible.
Don't worry about the warm weather drop off, I will make OTI so full of laughs they will all stay tuned,LOL!
Don't give up on winter yet, Doc had a great write up in the long range on something possible in March and the way this season has gone, I wouldn't put it past not happening.

Frank this forum is the best and you do a great job buddy. I SAY WE DO MONTHLY GET TOGETHERS!!!! 9.5" here in Syosset. It snowed HARD the last hour. Real cold out, dry powdery snow. Looks like one more heavy 30 minute burst. I'll get to 10"

What about the huge band getting ready to reach EPA....is it going to be the grand finale for us or will it die out before it gets here?

Just went out and did another measurement: 8". And it's still snowing. When it stops I plan to do one more measurement.

I may be wrong, but that last area of snow in EPA will produce for us all, even northern guys, sun has set, temps are dropping fast, and it looks good on radar.

We can't declare victory today yet.
The 7.0 inches was as of 4PM and it snowed moderately for an hour and a half after that. If they don't update the 7.0 inches on the next update it's the SOS.
