BTW, I am on measuring duty for this one, so relax and enjoy!
I know your a vet Doc with 35 years of measuring experience but I'm a little uneasy with this.
Make me proud, I'l let my youngest, who is 18, know she has the day off.
Now let's hope there's something substantial to measure, but either way it all counts.

I mentioned yesterday on Americanwx that I strongly felt that this system would ultimately move north. The confluence to the north was modeled way too strong in my opinion. My only fear now is do I share in the wealth? That area of subsidence in NE jersey is really bugging me. I already got burned a few times before this winter with sinking dry air. Hopefully its not the case this time around.

Nutley are your totals for the season correct? 31 inches? Feel for you if true, hopefully this one is your storm.

Maybe the WSW thing is something from being a child I always got so excited about warnings, so even though I understand its just wording I still get excited when I have one, maybe they upgrade if models pan out like gfs rgem etc., if not and we get over 6 inches who has the egg on their face hehe.

All I can say is Lonnie doesn't have his sleeves rolled up yet.
He said that this would probably be our last snow storm of the season. Hmmm.

I'm afraid so. The great blizzard about a month ago... I received only 5 inches, was expecting 30. My biggest snowfall this winter is only 5.5 inches. Burned by that subsidence! Frank mentioned of the possibility of it happening which scares me.CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:nutleyblizzard wrote:I mentioned yesterday on Americanwx that I strongly felt that this system would ultimately move north. Then there's no real threat going on, we can all talk when he flips the clicker around and rolls the sleeves up

I'm a Docstox guy. Let me see the radar first then I'll believe. I love the latest trends and I stand to get 5 to 9 on Franks map. But I have to be honest the radar us really unimpressive. I don't know what you're all looking at but the stuff out over the mid Ohio valley and southern PA looks to be heading due east. It needs to have more of a ne motion to get to us no?? I'm hopeful but skeptical

I guess the models are reading something in the atmosphere that will kick this north.Even Lee now mentions this, a Met I highly respect for his accuracy.

It's bothering me, too. I also live in Nutley, NJ. I guess we will see how it goes.

We need to wait for the mid-level trough to catch up to the front and push the precip north

It's funny Doc, Lonnie said that the cold front would be pushing the moisture to the South. Very confusing.
Maybe he hasn't seen the new model runs.
