Night all. Looks like yet another 1-3 inch event here. Not even worth staying up at all for it. Hoping mugs is right and I wake up at around 6AM to a pleasant surprise here in the LHV.
Anyways, congrats NYC/LI/NJ guys! Post pics please!

I have absolutely no physical proof to back up what I'm about to say, other than my own experience and for you take my word for it lol
It has been a consistent observation of mine during winter storms, that wherever you see the main band(s) set up at the beginning of any event, that is where they end up remaining throughout the event. Moral to the story: If you live close to I-95, based on what I am seeing on the current radar, you will see a ridiculous amount of QPF from this storm. Whether it falls as rain, snow or a two-piece chicken combo meal of the two, and how much snow that falls actually accumulates all remain to be seen, but that is my honest opinion.

Too bad this didn't start as snow.
When it does change over though...it's going to be heavy

A lot of that is actually probably bright-banding to be honest. The warm-nose has started to shrink a bit, even that far south I think.

The way to prove if it is or not is to look at actual observations: If there are reports of heavy rain then it isn't, if not, then it is.

Maybe so. HRRR has the changeover around 1am. Some have it around 4am. Let's go with 2?

Yeah it is; I just looked at some current observations and they are only reporting moderate rain in NYC, not heavy.

Interesting that it literally jackpots NYC lol almost looks like it puts it in the crosshairs, pun intended lol or as a destination; "X" marks the spot hahaha Boy, poor SnowMan gets shafted if this actually verifies lol
