Changed over at 2am here in southern ct. 2-3 inches already. Looks amazing on the trees. If this whole thing trains over me and doesnt move east too much ill have huge totals.

NWS has me for an inch, ending at 1PM.
Same here, no complaints from me! Fun day incoming!

NICE! Looks like your area is reporting the most snow so far.
Very light snow, maybe 1/2 inch, 29.8 degrees. There must be some icy spots from yesterdays meltwater now, be careful HV folks!

Went from just very light snow to moderate/heavy in 5 minutes! LOL, this storm is driving me batty!
I don't see how it can end up here at 1 PM as per NWS when that long precip train has yet to come on through.

Heavy snow, around an inch still, not accumulating much but temp is dropping steadily, down to 30.
Looking at the radar it seems like the heavy bands are building pretty far NW.

It's true, though. At some point, you've just gotta sit back and nowcast. That moisture plum coming in from the southwest is something else.

Steady heavy snow, snow growth looks to be improving by the half hour. Starting to accumulate a bit more.

So here are some interesting observations. Currently there looks to be a vorticity max at 850mb currently centered over Eastern Kentuky. (click the link to see it in motion)
http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/850hPa/overlay=temp/orthographic=-86.09,35.84,3000
" />
It is resulting in strong 850mb and 700mb frontogenesis to our SW (solid purple contour lines).
850 current mesoscale analysis:
700mb mesoscale analysis:
My hope is as it moves NE along he boundary it will greatly enhance frontogenesis (which leads to intense vertical motion, and enhanced precip rates) in our area even more!!
Current conditions IMBY 30*F puking, ripping, vomiting, snow right now.

Looks on the radar like heavy bands growing over the NW Philly burbs and another band just west of the Lehigh Valley. some of that should be moving into central NJ over the next hour or so. Steady moderate snow here although a bit of a lull in intensity over the past 20 minutes. radar indicates it will pick up again soon.

It's accumulating Fast here in Syosset and that's with the temperature at 33. As it drops and ratios pick up It should really accumulate even better. Man I've been lucky this winter. I've been in a perfect spot down here. I'm 1" away from 60"
