Really strange jim...by the looks of the radar, I should be dumping with snow now and it's barely snowing lightly.
Must be evaporating in the dry air or something.

One isolated town in the mountains there. No cities in Kentucky came anywhere close to that.

wow it's been snowing good here since around 7 o'clock just eyeballing it have at least 3 inches very surprised snow is able to stick with 32 to 34 degree temperatures after all that rain last night and a warm day yesterday. I just want to apologize to everyone for jumping off the bandwagon this morning and close to the edge but it did look grim at 5 a.m. was I wrong! wow!

And now we have heavy snow on radar for an hour but light snow coming down as we now battle low level dry air. I never tought this was our storm, but good grief what next?

There was never a shot of NYC schools closing. Has to be a major blizzard for that. As long as there is half decent subway service school will be open.

They god burned this year..lucky they closed the schools that day. odds of it happening again for very slim to none unless it is a blizzard

Wow doc and CP, maybe I'll get more than you this time, that would rare!
Just measured 4-5 inches on sidewalk that had sticking issues for the first hour or 2. Heavy snow still.
16-20 inch snowpack. Yes.

From Craig Allen's FB page:
For met wannabees, hobbyists, smart people LOL...here is an excellent discussion from SPC about heavy snow into this afternoon and why.
For the rest of us, it's gobbly-dee-goop but means the same thing; moderate to heavy snow into the afternoon and double digit snow totals are not out of the question, especially along I-95 corridor up to at least GWB/NYC and east

because of that wet start there is a glaze of ice under the snow. It took until after 8am to start piling up but over 3" now

Re: March 4-5, 2015 Storm - Final Call/Obs
Let me tell you how my morning went. I work up at a library in Fair lawn. I texted my boss if the library was closed for the day, he texted me back to come to work. After a 11 mile harrowing drive to work, I clocked in and started my shift. About an hour and a half into my shift, my boss approaches and tells me he's sorry for making me trek to work and that the library will be closed for the day! I made it back home in one piece and back into storm mode with you guys. Currently snowing moderately with 3 inches thus far. Hoping for an over performer!!!

Yes, snow. You are in a good zone.Very sharp cutoffs for this storm and we are dry as dust up here qpf wise.
Enjoy it! Guess when I go down to the Mahwah property I am selling soon I'll have maybe 6 inches or more to shovel! Should be a snap being powdery.
