Just measured 4-5 inches on sidewalk that had sticking issues for the first hour or 2. Heavy snow still.
16-20 inch snowpack. Yes.
Yes, snow. You are in a good zone.Very sharp cutoffs for this storm and we are dry as dust up here qpf wise.
Enjoy it! Guess when I go down to the Mahwah property I am selling soon I'll have maybe 6 inches or more to shovel! Should be a snap being powdery.

After a 11 mile harrowing drive to work, I clocked in and started my shift. About an hour and a half into my shift, my boss approaches and tells me he's sorry for making me trek to work and that the library will be closed for the day! I made it back home in one piece and back into storm mode with you guys. Currently snowing moderately with 3 inches thus far. Hoping for an over performer!!!
I would have did something bad to him.
This storm is amazing

Zoo over 3" here like 3.25" and snowing at a moderate clip. Radar is healthy and that moisture fetch is LONG!! The front looks to be moving at a snails pace. I have to say I was up at 2:45 and gain at 3:45 am and we had nothing and I was like oh poop we r going to have school and I am going to be doing a lot of explaining to my peers and students. Zoo we are going over 50" for the second year in a row woop woop.
Again peeps do not doubt the meteorological minds on this board.

NWS may have this nailed perfectly for my area. They call for 1-2 ending by 1 PM.By the looks of the radar, northwestern edge breaking up and their end time might be spot on.
Maybe 1.5 inches here, very light snow.

Moderate to heavy snow as has been for about 3 hours. Probably about 2.5" to 3" here and still dumping. Made it to work now just waiting to be sent home. Lol

Just curious Frank, A look at the radar and you would think we have been getting moderate to heavy snow in Orange County for the last hour yet we've just been getting flurries, after about 2 hours of heavy to moderate snow when the radar looked the same as it does now.
That's the low level dry air working in? And that would not show on radar? Scary if that's true and hopefully for everyone involved it doesn't venture much further south from here.

Have you ever seen that on a radar before,CP? I know I have never. When it's light like this you see it, not the darker shades with banding.
This is over very soon up here BTW from what I see.

Boston is getting dry slotted while the rest of the I-95 corridor has been getting snow. Boston needs 2" to break the seasonal snow record. Imagine if it falls short. Then again, I'm sure a lot of Boston residents are relieved they are not getting more snow.

Yes, but another problem for you northern guys is all the lift is south of you. We should be ok because we have favorable upward frontogenesis

Odd the way western Essex is stuck in there with a WWA. I live on the eastern half of that dividing line and can literally see "western Essex" as I sit here. It's pretty much where the coastal plain meets the higher elevations, but I doubt the totals will be significantly different from eastern Essex to western Essex, and even to Morris.

CP go back a few pages and look at where the frontogenesis is set up

It is usually Upton's authority to issue warning and advisory there. Imo, I think Mt. Holly should do all of New Jersey.essexcountypete wrote:Frank_Wx wrote:Winter storm warnings expanded
