Trending colder - so the delay will help out us snow weenies , except for LI folks and Shore line. Under heavy banding this will also help cool teh column down and allow things to accumulate. Looks like a sleetfest is in teh cards big time now. CMC has been on this for a week.

You said snow, not sleet. But I'll still post pics.

Mugsy don't give up on us Strong Islanders yet. We always find a way to surprise in the snow category. I'm telling you I'm not wishcasting here. IT DOESNT FEEL LIKE RAIN IS COMING!!!

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
Just updated my Facebook:
Gusts to 50 mph already being reported in Delaware and 40 mph in Maryland. Minor coastal flooding is already occurring in isolated spots. Forecast looks to generally be on track, although the observation of light snow already here in Northeast Pa is a bit concerning. Watching this system closely, and especially so once the main precipitation shield starts working in this afternoon, as how far northwest the warm air aloft will determine who sees mainly snow versus mainly sleet. If warmer air does not make it as far northwest as I am currently thinking (as evidenced by the 3-6" snow/sleet zone, where I feel mostly sleet will fall) and it stays cold aloft, snowfall amounts will need to be bumped to the 6-10" range. Just be aware that potential exists, as does the opposite, where so much warm air comes in aloft it ends up as mainly rain. I think the former is more likely to occur than the later if the current forecast is to bust. Again, so far the forecast issued last night appears to be on track, but I'll continue to watch this closely and update if necessary.

The warm nose is above this, roughly from about 820-680 hPa for the coastal plain once the main precipitation shield begins working in.

40* Cloudy and windy. Winds according to my latest local report are 14 mph with gusts to 29 mph. Certainly feels like snow even though I know that's not in the cards.

Will not but at this time frame looks to be a nose to warm under the 850 level - above that is a warm level so it will be hard to sleet for you out there but then again teh dynamics of this storm is going to be nowcasting.
What happened to the South Easter and 60* for this storm? Big Momma had other ideas.
I am with you on teh frustration an almost perfect track for a blizz a real shame. What have been incredible back to back to the day years of blizz.
ENE winds will keep things cold hopefully colder so we can get some frozen.

Pretty gusty winds at home, enough to send garbage cans rolling away and litter the ground with twigs. At work in Dobbs Ferry hardly any wind. A little breezy.
Gusts into the mid 40s at CPK and LGA.

Ice as per RGEM
NW NJ if it verifies which I think it will they can see about 4" of sleet
Even to me in BC we can see by me calculations about 1" of sleet.
