Yikes. That is no joke. I'm pretty sure that is a common scene in a lot of shore towns right now.

Still rain here, 35° holding steady. Besides the flooding damage, lots of accidents, and pedestrians hit because it is so dark.... please be careful if you go out observing. I'm on call and it's just bad out....hate dark rainy nights...

Zoo yup terrible night. Skeet mixing with rain in Pearl rRiver and in Allendale.
Friend in Monroe Woodbury on OC said he can't even walk outside everything is a sheet of ice.
Skins what a shame, again hate going to see what daybreak brings at the shore.

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
Mt. Holly downgraded their wind warnings to advisories. Upton hasn't made changes yet. It looks like there is a thick inversion layer. From a Meteorologist...
Around 900 mb the temp warms with height and its pretty substantial. Winds are strongest above this layer. Below that, winds are still high, but we will only be able to mix to the top of this layer which are closer to 50 kt. This plus temps in the 30s at surface mean its stable enough to prevent the worst winds

HWW means winds gusts are over 57 mph but u still have a Wind Advisory so gusts for the area will be as high as 57 mph with some gusts could reach above that in isolated areas.

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
Just as the moisture fetch off the ocean started to look like it was moving north, a new area of heavy rain is moving into NJ from the south near Cape May, Atlantic and Ocean counties. I guess this is why we can expect rain all night. And why some of those rain totals of "only" an inch people were tossing around this morning were clearly underdone.
