Still bad imo

Just as the moisture fetch off the ocean started to look like it was moving north, a new area of heavy rain is moving into NJ from the south near Cape May, Atlantic and Ocean counties. I guess this is why we can expect rain all night. And why some of those rain totals of "only" an inch people were tossing around this morning were clearly underdone.

Around 900 mb the temp warms with height and its pretty substantial. Winds are strongest above this layer. Below that, winds are still high, but we will only be able to mix to the top of this layer which are closer to 50 kt. This plus temps in the 30s at surface mean its stable enough to prevent the worst winds
sorry I got side tracked with my post and posted it after you posted this...dogs need to go out but won't because its raining so hard...I just went out to entice them..no go...I know I am going to get a wake up call in the middle of the night...lol
No worries but winds are picking up again
I seem to be lagging behind you...so lets see in a bit...how much rain do you have now...and have you heard how the aquarium is doing?
2.15 inches right now. I'm not sure how aquarium is doing but I'm sure it's fine. Martells looks bad but the water usually goes right under it not affecting the inside

By the looks of the radar the entire tri state area is looking at 2.5-4" of rain IMHO

how the heck is Woodbridge, south and east of me, getting sleet when I'm still getting rain? this storm is madness.

I have to agree with this. I know I'm already well over an inch and there seems to be plenty more streaming into the area.

30.2 as the temperature continues to drop and it continues to sleet and sleet some more occassionally mixed with rain.
Ground is white although grass is not covered, and my wife the school teacher should have a sleet day tomorrow if this keeps up.

That's an impressive mass coming right at us. Hopefully that's what a drought buster looks like.

Maybe up by them, they are 20 miles north of me so they've got a better chance than I do.

The NAM has come a long way since its "Not A Model" days when its mere mention would get Frank's blood a'boiling. It's actually become somewhat reliable.
