I agree totally.
In order of precip choices.
1. Snow
2. Sleet
3. Rain
4. Freezing rain.
The whole event so far has been number 2 and it's all white outside. I can't complain except when I have to shovel this tomorrow.
Morally I agree. but as a weather enthusiast I have Freezing rain before rain. I also feel like it is, high wind, freezing rain never verifies. When it does it is devastating which makes it exciting. I never want anyone hurt but I like the change in pace.

Not me I hate the stuff, to much damage and no electricity I can do without.
Just took the midnight measurement and now going to bed.
2.3 inches of sleet, incredible, and coming down hard. Temp 29.7
A little nervous what the morning will bring.

The rain is nuts here soaked just to get to car to run to grab a late night bite to eat. Slight wind kicking up maybe starting an upward trend?

Just took the midnight measurement and now going to bed.
2.3 inches of sleet, incredible, and coming down hard still. Temp 29.7
A little nervous what the morning will bring, hopefully there's no switch to freezing rain or I'll wake up with no heat or light.

Street lights are jumping around pretty good. Wonder if winds are actually picking up. Accuwx says gusts to 50 mpH through tomorrow afternoon. Might the wind advisory b extended as it ends in 40 min or is wind pretty much done deal?

Love good chicken finger. My fat a** favorites are wings and cheese fries with ranch dressing. Going to bed now since I have a bed to sleep in and tomorrow night I wont. I have 1.5"f sleet so far.

Wonder of wonders. At some point during the night, it finally got cold enough for the rain to turn to snow. Not sure how much, but it's beautiful regardless.

I've had sleet and freezing rain all night. So far I've measured 2 inches of sleet. Everything is coated in ice. The wind has died down from what it was yesterday thankfully. If it didn't I'm sure with all the ice there would be a lot of power issues.

Re: January 22nd-24th Nor'easter Observations & Discussions
Just plain rain. From my perspective only this was not a horrible storm with loss of power, high wind and punishing sleet and destruction. Frank and RB were spot on accurate with my area. I had wind and rain, but could have been much worse. No flooding as in past storms. Route 23 and Willobrook Mall seem fine. Better to be prepared then get stuck. Now hopefully the next massive storm will be white and fluffy.
