Gefs came further west.

The trends this winter seem to come north as we get closer

It looked to me like the NAM moved SE from last two runs, I understand we will see the back and forth but that wasn't the right now, GFS too. 3km nam was decent.

The NAM has the mid level low just a hair too far SE. Talking a distance of 75 miles. Well within the striking distance.

Big day. 3k is nice but most everything else is just a shade too far SE for a jackpot. Current position consensus is such that a small shift nW is a nice event for most. A small shift se and most and perhaps all risk a miss altogether. Oh the torture!

A miss given some of the things previously mentioned regarding the pattern would not be surprising but the trend has been to come back NW inside 48hrs. We shall see.

12z balloon data is in and there are more promising signs for increased amplification of Sunday's storm:
-Higher heights over #AKwx
-Lower heights in the shortwave over BC

Through hour 30, southern vort is stronger, more northern stream interaction. Expect a nice run here.
