Had some light flurries again last night. 3 days in a row -wooo hoo!
And February doesn't look to be as MILD as the "Heat Miser" said it woudl be last week.

-3° too and what Doc said.
Hoping to get 3-5 up here as some of the models have and freshen up our snow pack which still stands at a rock hard 5 inches.

23 degrees, cloudy calm.
Woke up to 3 to 6 inches possible here with a WWA from 1 to 2 yesterday, so the westward shift happened.I see the B word down at the jersey Shore so my Sister in Ocean Grove will be happy.Maybe A little more west will give me closer to 10.Almost at nowcast time and the storm will do what it will do.

25 degrees, snow is melting but slowly, very strong sun. I would not at all be unhappy if it melted off the streets but stayed everywhere else, they still did a horrible job plowing, some shaded side roads are a mess. Yonkers DOT is abismal.

Been seeing this popping up, mugsy, but haven’t looked into it. Almost looks a little Norlun-y to me at first glance, though, doesn’t it?
And yes, according to rb’s meteorological dictionary, “Norlun-y” is a word: “of, relating to, or having the same or similar properties to a classic Norlun Trough.”

Ok, it’s not. It’s actually being generated purely by warm advection in the mid-levels. You can actually find the fronts at H7 and H5 in the vorticity field. Pretty cool.

I take 1" off snow measurements for the recent event. Neighbor said 7" fell in part 2 of storm. Family says 6" plus the 1.75" during day gives me 7.75" event total. Not too shabby still.

This chart tells the tale of the winter pattern to date.Atlantic City 4 times as much snow as normal and Albany more than 50% less.Math had to go to Boston FROM Albany to get into the big snow.
The pattern or trend is S and E this year and until that breaks, I expect that to continue all winter.Once these patterns set, like 1995-1996 , they last a long time.

I have to say Doc that what we are seeing Albany is going to make up for it in the next 10-15 days as the pattern is shifting. Ninoesque pattern STJ (Split flow) with a Nina base state
