120% AN ACE (accumulated cyclone energy)= very active Hcane season
With that we have a large injection of cold fresh arctic water being released by the Beaufort Gyre that is infiltrating's the gulf stream it seems. SROC and I posted a video and information in this thread a ways back on this from Suspicious Observers and it is aligning.
Holy crap.. talk about fresh water stagnation.. @dbirch214 @TheSnowDreamer it seems an invisible force, under the surface in the Gulf Stream warm water wall below Newfoundland has some severe fresh and saline water situation. Yes, La Niña is making a dent here, but AMOC is . pic.twitter.com/9Q6H6VnOkn

Thankfully, I got an oil delivery 2 weeks ago. Paid $378 for 100 gallons.(not a bargain by any means) Today,2 weeks later, that same 100 gallons is $520. Gas is over $4.40 a gallon, and groceries, well don't even want to go there. At this stage of the game, you can keep your cold and snow. This weekend we turn the clocks ahead- a sure sign that

Not looking for anyone’s minds to explode here Ray. Lol. Just want people to realize the next chapter in this is beginning. Be prepared for more virtue signaling, censorship, doxing, shaming, and more rifts between friends and families over this particular topic. Now more than ever, the every day person needs to be able to override the mind control that is media, social media and political elites and objectively look at all things even if it goes against what is incessantly being pushed by the machine.

Oh I know haha it’s just that I said I would never engage in a political discussion on a forum (not that this SHOULD be a political issue, but science is increasingly becoming political). Hence my ever increasing bite on my tongue right now lol all I’ll say is I’m with you 100% (which I think you already knew beforehand anyway), but as somebody who has had this actually happen to me personally several times during my short career, where people, including fellow mets, college colleagues, professors, and friends have resorted to not debating the merits of particular arguments, but to personal attacks and attempts to discredit because they couldn’t win on the merits of their arguments. A majority of the big ones have occurred on other forums. Some of you know. Some of you don’t. Doesn’t matter. But as somebody who has been through this. It’s just incredibly frustrating to not be able to have debates on merits of arguments with increasing frequency. And I’ll stop there. Hence my head exploding lol

Bottom line is I now say don’t take my word for it. Start looking into it yourself and allow yourself to be objective in your pursuit of knowledge; then make up your own mind.
objective
[əbˈjektiv]
ADJECTIVE
(of a person or their judgment) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts.Contrasted with subjective.
"historians try to be objective and impartial"
synonyms:
impartial · unbiased · [more]

This mindset is seen on college campuses where any speaker is harassed or threatened with physical violence for giving a viewpoint that is conservative.Art Laffer, an economist who was on Reagan's team, was invited by a conservative group at SUNY in Binghamton, was threatened.Institutions of higher education are supposed to be places where all ideas are discussed so young people can hear different viewpoints.Violent leftists are shutting that down. This is a very dangerous trend in this country where only one viewpoint is allowed.

Wow, that’s amazing that gas is still ‘that cheap’ out there. Somehow prices at the Shore came down 10-15 cents to about 4.25. NYC I hear is 7.50!! Wait, so millions of New Yorkers have to work an hour to pay for the 2 gallons of gas it will take them to get to work, and then 1 more hour of work to pay for the 2 gallons to get home? Maybe that’s not the case for millions of New Yorkers per se, cuz it’s less of a driving city. But it’s been the case in California for a bit already, and now it just got twice as bad.
I don’t see how this sustains for very long at all.

SE, the sacrosanct laws of supply and demand will eventually bring this under control.I make my living as a trader and follow this closely .Oil drilling rig counts are up sharply this month.More supply will be coming to the market within 6 months plus people will be conserving and limiting their driving.Supply UP, demand DOWN= lower prices.Biden can facilitate this by creating sentiment that the speculators in the oil market will adjust to.All Biden has to do is SAY they will re-open Keystone. He doesn't even have to do it, but the sentiment would drop oil prices 10 to 15 bucks a barrel overnight. He can facilitate the leases on Federal Lands for now. They want to shift to alternative sources of clean energy, and I say great, but it has to be done slowly over a 25 to 50 year period.Oil and natural gas are here to stay for a good long while.Any disruption of oil and you have pay dearly at the pump as we see now.

Doc, your words are seeped in wisdom, even by your incredibly high standards. I minored in economics when I was at Florida state just to make my transcript ‘pop’ a little more. Lol. We spent two weeks learning the sacrosanct (I.e., sacred and immutable) laws of supply and demand and how they impact… everything. And then I spent the next 6 classes learning how and why government interferes with them and then what those impacts are. A handful of those interferences are necessary. But aparently human nature is to interfere…

Damian, I am thinking outputs on those products were impacted by the virus with factory closures and people being ill.Add in the massive government benefits where people just sat home and didn't work, and there is the supply shortage,As the virus winds down, benefits end people will return to work and output will rise. There probably is some price gouging in there, sadly, thats human nature.But. as output increases prices will drop.dkodgis wrote:At these prices, shale gets back into the game and puts some downward pressure as supply increases. Doc. I haven’t figured this out yet for meat, poultry markets. Sounds manipulated to me

Good for you SE taking that course! You have background now into how the US and World economies work!
Agree with you that some interferences aka controls are necessary to keep things running smooth. However, once those interferences get too onerous, well you get a 1929-1933 or a 2008-2009.But that's left for another day.

Too close to the coast for our area.I was in Mahwah NJ, got 17 inches total, 3 or 4 of which were sleet.Wonderful to shovel.Just west near rb folks area, they had 36 inches.29 years, seems like yesterday for me.LOL. like that old song goes, "enjoy yourself, it's later than you think..."!

So, being good South Florida folk, we drove to Atlanta! It took 8-9 hours on i-75, there was snow and ice all over the roads and there were dozens and dozens of cars just littered across the Atlanta interstates having spun out or crashed the night before.
We finally got there safely, played football in the snow for 20 minutes (two layers of socks and high top sneakers did NOT keep our feet warm or dry) and then went to the Waffle House for hot chocolate/coffee. Then, about an hour or so after we got there, we drove back to Tally.
I guess an actual photo of a pit stop on the way up survived and was sent to me a few years back. So, that's me on the left with the blue 'winter jacket' on. The red car roof was my stick shift 91 Nissan Sentra which showed the heart of a champion that whole trip!!! So did Jen Bug to my right, she drove her little car up there too and I heard she was crying hysterically most of the way!
Another funny memory from this picture is that of course we stopped at BP for gas. Jen's BP charge card was her only means of support for her gas, groceries and beer cuz her mom was so mad after her previous grade report, she basically cut off any other financial support! lol What a fun time to be young!
