Re: September 2024 Observations and Discussion
Following up on this, we may be setting up for the coldest mid-October through at least mid-November in quite a while. I want to dig more deeply on this idea, but this blocking is ABSURDLY strong and ABSURDLY consistent. To say it’s doing a number on the Stratospheric PV is an understatement. We may very well get accumulating snows in parts of our area long before Thanksgiving. Making me think about November of 2014 with respect to scale. And this is in addition to other factors as well.

At around 12 pm, it will be 70 degrees. That's how many years I have today. 70-large. Catching up to Doc and GreyBeard. Still ahead of everyone else.
63 right now and the pool gets closed Sunday. A quiet September with nothing much ado with the weather. Soon Dr. Rick from Progressive will be hosting the board to talk us all down.

78 , sunny, calm.Week of warm, sunny weather ahead.
Just remember Damian, never trust anybody over 90!
I'll be 74 in November, a number that I never expected to see,LOL.I think Greybeard is older than me, and I remember another old timer as well that posted now and then.Hoping they are still active so I can still be one of the "youngsters" in here.
This will make you feel like a teenager again, Damian!

70* and Sunny. Slightly warmer than it has been, but a beautiful morning. Noticed some more leaves starting to change here. In three weeks foliage should be entering its' peak-phase in this area. So it begins . . .

We drove down the GSP to Seaside Friday and noticed leaves starting to change. Ready for the cooler weather and apple picking!

Tropical Cyclone #8, which may become a depression, lurking off the Carolina coast. May not quite become a "named" storm, but still should bring some heavy rain and wind to the Carolinas. Models seem kind of divided right now. Some don't really have it impacting us much at all. Others want to bring an area of rain into the region Wednesday into Wednesday night. GFS wants to bring an area of pretty heavy rain over a good section of NJ, whereas Euro keeps it southeast of NJ and the NAM also keeps that area of rain southeast of NJ off the Delmarva coast.
