2014-15 Islanders
Since this is the final season that the New York Islanders play their home games at Nassau Coliseum, I would really like to see them not only make it into the playoffs, but to go deep into the playoffs. It was nice watching MSG+ and hearing the "Let's Go Islanders" chant at the Garden as they defeated the Rangers 3-0, including a short-handed goal against Lundqvist. Here's to hoping they continue to stay in the playoff hunt the next three months. Go Isles!

Isles sure picked a bad time to go into a slump. They seem like they're getting worn down late. Last night was a great game against number 1 LA, that game nothwithstanding.

The Islanders don't deserve to make the playoffs after tonight...

Hopefully the 3rd period woke them up. If they can dominate the last 2 games and they can somehow earn home ice, then maybe, just maybe, they can squeak out a first round win. If that happens who knows how far they can go. That being said I certainly don't have a lot of confidence in them making any noise beyond the first round at this time.

They've gotten very sloppy with the puck handling lately, so I can't put all the blame on Halak even though that was a block that needed to be made. But they're a young team and can certainly build in the years to come. That said, it ain't over till it's over.

It def aint over NoFo. Watching the evolution of a playoff run is an amazing thing in Hockey. Sometimes it starts with a sinlge game. We shall see. I am beyond excited regardless and will be screaming at my TV and annoying my wife for as long as the boys are still in it.

You're as excited as I am, I woke my kids up with a bellowing "F*#K!!!!!!!!!!", last night. A totally involuntary reaction but sometimes passion overtakes composure.

LOL....I was laying in bed while my wife was trying to sleep. I was almost asleep myself until the last 10 mins of the 3rd. She wanted to kill me after the 3rd goal was scored to tie it up. By then she was awake and pissed. She actually felt bad for me though when Philly scored. I am a semi superstitious guy when it comes to my sports. I watched the first two periods down stairs. After the second goal in the third she asked me to go back downstairs. Since we were coming back I sure as hell wasnt going to go back down stairs as to not ruin the MoJo.

Re: 2014-15 Islanders
John Tavares's goal 15 seconds into OT really puts the Islanders in a decent position against the Capitals. Here's to hoping they can seal the deal. If they play Pittsburgh the next round, then the Islanders would get home ice.

U guys are done after last night. Heading back to caps land with a huge OT road win. Sorry but I hope I am wrong. I like Tavares, even as a Ranger fan.

Isles force a game 7. They are a very intriguing young team that won't give up without a fight.

Re: 2014-15 Islanders
I was at a local bar to watch both the Mets and the Islanders games. We were in jubilation over the Mets closing out the bottom of the 9th to complete the dramatic late comeback win for the Mets, only to have it come to an abrupt end moments later when Joel Ward scored a goal for the Capitals to give them a 1-0 lead late in the 2nd period. While Frans Nielsen did tie it up early in the 3rd, the Caps retook the lead later in the period. The Islanders couldn't even take advantage of a late game power play to tie it up. As a result, they get eliminated from the playoffs and the Nassau Coliseum era is over as they move to Brooklyn next fall.

Re: 2014-15 Islanders
I was a little worried about their lack of goal scoring, especially during Power Play.
All well, end of an era. I'll sure have some fond memories of the "Old Barn".
