Update Email Address to Receive Newsletters

Hello everyone,

A cool feature of the forum is it allows me to send a mass email to ALL the registered members of the forum. I typically do this 1-2 days before a major storm hits. I outline potential impacts, timing, track, and post some of my own maps.

You can then forward these emails to friends and family to promote awareness. That's the main reason behind this feature. In order for it to work, you have to do a couple of things:

1. Make sure you have a valid email. Follow the screen shot below. Click "Profile" on the top of the site. You will then see the option to update your email address (if necessary). Most people probably do not have to do this step. You need a valid email to register to this forum anyway.



2. Allow Newsletters to be sent to you. Follow the screen shot. Once you click "Profile" on the top, you then click on the "Preferences" tab. You will see a yes or no option to allow newsletters. Change it to YES.
