Crazy stuff. Cant imagine what that's like.
While we still in this dreary weather pattern they are stuck in the hot dry part of a Omega block

I may be wrong and probably am but I don't remember that many 30+ inch storms in NY from 2000 on. I do remember more big storms in the 70s, again I may be wrong.

Yeah confused me too for a minute. I know there has never been a 30" snowstorm in NYC (Central Park)....not officially anyway.

Did anyone see the term "Omega Block" used on ABCnews regarding the two coastal storms? I had never heard that one before.

The block is in southeast Canada. You can see from 500mb how it buckles the jet stream and keeps a cut off low over our area. That's why this past week has been miserable

Yeah they call it the Omega block because you get to low pressures one on the west coast one on the east coast with high pressure in the center of the country and when you draw an outline it looks like the omega symboldkodgis wrote:Did anyone see the term "Omega Block" used on ABCnews regarding the two coastal storms? Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
This morning I went into the shower at about 9:30 am and the sky was as gray and overcast as could be. I was wondering if we would see the sun at all by noon. When I came out of the shower about 10 min later, the sky was blue and there were white clouds. Talk about surprise. I never saw the sky clear that fast. As for the link, I read the article and I don't think I saw a "date" when we might become the snow capital. I suppose anything is possible but the blog comments...they were entertaining.

But today it was back in the 60's with clouds, making it feel cooler. So, spring came and went and that's not part of the deal!!!!

Calc III is pretty much everything in 3-D. Three-dimensional analytic geometry, vectors, and we still take some derivatives and integrals...The fall I am taking Diffy Q, Physics II, Synoptic I, and a intro-GIS class which will be a nice break before spring semester with Regression Analysis, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, and Advanced GIS.amugs wrote:Quietace wrote:Two more finals and I am done...Scientific Programming and Calc II left

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
It was a great year! Depending on my Calc II grade(long story about my professors crazy grading system) my GPA should be somewhere between 3.80-4.0. Should have 61 credits going into the fall. Looking to make next year even more successful.weatherwatchermom wrote:Quietace wrote:Calc III is pretty much everything in 3-D.
