Moderate to heavy sleet with strong winds in NYC

You are so right crippo that's why i try not to complain to much because everybody has this crap happen to them but you guys down near the coast have done better the last few years then up hudson valley peeps.

It's Pretty amazing how we at the coast used to have this happen a lot, then we got into a nice stretch where we seem to get them all. A taste of reality for us Long Islanders...

Been taking on and off naps because this was such a let down but Frank we can't be upset with you.  I do have now I think its frz now. I never went out out so a measurement now would be inaccurate so hopefully someone measures near me or theres a report for yonkers.

Question, I have yet to take a measurement and for several hours, sleet has accumulated on top of the front end snow. If I stick a ruler in and take what is on the top, do I add that to my seasonal snow total?

I went out to shovel a spot to feed my birds and squirrels on my deck and I did a Dick Van Dyke fall. Went head over heels. Good thing I'm like Gumby DAM IT ! Wow that crap is slippery.  

It stopped sleeting about 45 minutes ago, and since then we've had varying degrees of fine snow.

We're between Newark Airport and Staten Island, and their totals were both 3.5 inches of snow before the rain and sleet, and one of my neighbors just told me we had 3-4 inches of sleet fall since he shoveled earlier when it had all stopped for a while.

Right now, regular to fine sized snow is falling pretty heavy and it's coming down sideways.

When is this supposed to stop, around 6pm?

Oh, and make my Italian ice a rainbow one, please.

i went out for a few minutes..went right back in. not so much the snow you can't see it's like shards of glass blowing and hitting your face

1hour and half of shoveling I must have 8 inches of snow and 3 inches of sleet I think but wow it is very heavy to shovel

GFS and Nam have snow showers for the northeast tomorrow

We've turned back to snow here in Bloomfield.

Winds still whipping - great storm overall
3.5 last storm and about 11/12" this storm so I am above or at my average so far this season..

I think  CP will be on this...jeff smith said central park should measure 8"-10+". We'll see what happens.
It seem around an inch of sleet an hr for most of the morning...probably would of been 3" snow an hr.

Seems like a logical way of doing it. I read on here somewhere that sleet counts as snow so...

I know.Be careful SNOW MAN, you already have a bum shoulder.Us older guys gotta take care , we can't recover from falls like we did as kids.

1. Just shoveled (first round, there will apparently be two) and it is like shoveling bricks.
2. It is back to snowing here.

16.8 inches as of noon.

intensity down now so not sure if we'll make 2 feet

14", 2'+ drifts everywhere, now moderate snow mixed with sleet here - 27° had about 2 hrs of crazy snowfall rates and wind...

Thanks guys for your concern. But like my wife says " I think your made out of rubber the way you bounce right back up ". I'm sure later on I'll be feeling it.

Frank it looks like the radar has a nice backend thump headed our way!! Would you agree?
