Because we're not landscapers and we appreciate our snow pack. I like a snow cover through most of March. I'll concede the last week of March since it is technically spring but I concede it begrudgingly.

We've had a good snowpack for like 3 weeks... at least it's better than last year. And also some sun, warmth, and blue skies, help to improve mood and give you a taste of what's to come.

I like it. Nice day. The Winter Gods have been generous. Mikey not posting may have been the reason! I would love one more warning level storm. But Im happy with what we’ve got. No crying like last winter.

Re: Banter Thread 6.0
On another note if you are ot have not seen Nt Etna has had 6 pyroplasmic eruptions over the last 8 days. Precursor was Kilauea in Hawaii. These are magna flowing volcanoes some of their eruptions were BIG for them. So what's does this mean. The earth's crust and mantle is in motion and these types of cyanocobalamin eruptions are the precursor to BIGGER Geomagnetic events - i.e. earthquakes and volcanic eruptions and sinkholes and sand geysers etc. We have a Coronal Hole stream inbound March 1 & 2. This could trigger something in the 24-72 hours that follow it if we have a hit and strong it is of course.
But don't be fooled by anyone about tjis things are ramping up and have been.
Cascadia sublex which stems off San Andreas or fracture in a grand scale along with New Madrid (not concur)would not be good but disastrous. Icelandic volcanoes are percolating and ther have been a swarm of over 1000 small EQs. A pishad nothing who cares many would say. Well that is ignorance. It is a precursor to something in that area going off. It is readying nature, giving it a signal so to speak. Hapoenws before absolutely and always will Krakatoa, Mt St Helen's, Pinatubo plus all had these.
Just some interesting info to share peeps.

Have to watch Icelandic Volcanoes (2) - 1000 plus EQ around the whole area.
Last time it blew big was.....late 1200's
Coronal Hole ejection hitting earth yesterday. Watch for EQ's as well.

Re: Banter Thread 6.0
Looking at the DNA of the month...still cold for a week and then quite warm for some days and just maybe then some cold is back. Within the next five weeks, I will be pleased if it snows again, even a couple of inches. Looking back, I always put too high expectations on Decembers. So far for me, winter is low B but not B-. This winter I overwintered most of the deck plants. Surprisingly, two grow lights did the job. Hibiscus, portulaca, geraniums, and going to seed anenome and lobelia soon just for the fun of it so those go outside in late May. It was nice having the Hibiscus always blooming in the basement into Feb. It will look nice this early summer but I doubt it will flower much again. We'll see.
