July 2024 Observations and Discussion

After a very hot and humid June, a beautiful start to July. 75* with low dewpoints in the 50s. Was even able to shut down the AC and open some windows today.

AGree 73* and breezy - windows open and AC off. Doesn't get much better!!

The weekend rain trend seems to be holding true. 70 now with the air back on with the high going to mid 80's and creeping up to high 80s low 90s Sun through Tues.

Ditto for today. 89* at 11 a.m. (heading to 97* today) with a dewpoint of 77*. Apparently, I've sleepwalked and awoken in the tropics.

If this pattern continues over the next few years, we just might see gators LOL. Seriously thought, small animals and insects that aren't native to here, will absolutely start making their way here over the next decade.

Looks like that disturbance off SE coast is go bring a area of heavy rain from friday afternoon to sat night. WPC has area in slight shade for excessive rain. Flash flood watches up as far north as central NJ, they will probably be pushed into the tristate area tomorrow. Sux

A stiff 96 today at the foot of the Shawangunks. Pool temp 84. Grass has not been cut for two weeks. Still green. Lightning bugs are out. Summer fruit is lovely. More heat next two days

87* at 10 a.m. Let's see if we can get up to 100* today. At least it appears some relief from the heat and humidity will arrive at week's end. Thursday and Friday's 84* with low humidity will feel absolutely delightful after this heat and humidity.
