Anybody from Orange, Rockland and Westchester NY has been watching the New Tappan Zee Bridge go up.This is the futuristic design for the new bridge.There was talk of the old bridge becoming something like the high line in Manhattan but the kibosh was put on that recently and it will be demolished.This was an infrastructure project that was sorely needed and kudos to Governor Cuomo and President Obama for lighting fires under the right organizations and people to expedite this.I read a bridge inspector in NYS refuses to let his family drive across the old TZB as he feels "imminent collapse" is possible,LOL! Don't think of that when and if you drive across it.

Here is something you youngsters on the site could definitely see in your lifetime if the projections of this author come true.Entire industries will collapse, thousands of lives and money saved and a big decrease in CO2 emissions.Would you feel safe in a driverless car?

Just read the terrible story of the shooting in a church in South Carolina and I pray for the poor families that lost members and hope they catch this SOB.What a senseless tragedy.

Also, I considered going to the Mets game tonight but since there was the chance of rain (I don't like waiting out rain delays), I decided not to go.  Good thing too because they lost 1-0.  I instead spent the evening with my sister in Times Square at Applebee's and Cold Stone Creamery. Yummy!

Today, August 6th, is the 70th anniversary of the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima which helped end the horrible War which started in Sept. 1939.Whether you agree or not on it's use, one thing is for certain.It changed the world into  the pre and post Hiroshima era.

A mere 13 years after this I was in a basement in a Public School with a coat over my head and air raid sirens wailing all around in a duck and cover A Bomb drill.You've got to be around my age to appreciate the fear of the future all this caused in my generation.
