Sounds like you've got a full day ahead of you skins. Being Saturday will that all be OT?That would be sweet.

Still very sharp cutoffs on that run right? That makes me think of how lucky we are. Cutoffs could easily be 50 miles south, and were on other models, right?

Wow they keep increasing things! At least for me yesterday winds were at 30mph gusts now up to 55mph, 15-20 higher amounts still great.

Looking at the radar I see a dry slot forming over the southern DelMarVa. Whoever eventually gets stuck under that may get lower totals. Some of that dry zone may fill in though as the moisture wraps in tight from behind the storm.

You are absolutely correct. Took a look at the 24hr HRRRx, and shows the 700mb low getting to far north and dry slotting Phi, SNJ. Based off Meso-Any it seems likely to be correct(Also shows another 1.5-2.5" precip for those outside it).billg315 wrote:Looking at the radar I see a dry slot forming over the southern DelMarVa. Ryan, do you think that dry slot affects central NJ at all or stays south?

Re: Roidzilla Storm Mode - January 23, 2016 Updated Final Call
Primary effect the Delmarva and extreme southern NJ(ie Cape May County). Surprisingly the HRRR and the 24hr has been uncannily consistent with that and keeping the R/S line south of Toms River in the Beachwood area. Really great stuff from this model the past day. Most of the time it waivers back and fourth.billg315 wrote:Ryan, do you think that dry slot affects central NJ at all or stays south?

Got it. I think the dry slot location is going to be even more critical because I don't see this storm lasting as long as originally it was projected.

These coastal storms usually want to speed up once they get going.

Damn no, Docstox has you beat and you could be oldtimers kid. I think Dodgis is also early 60's.
Me, too, but don't post much.
Can't get the age to show on the left there by the avatar, but it's 62.

No drink, not with my meds, but I did buy Nutella on Thursday.
Let the young ones stay up late, we oldtimers wake up when they're crawling into bed. LOL

Belford NJ check in. Really hard to tell how much snow came down cause of the blowing snow but if I had to guess I'd say maybe 6 inches or so. Wind is starting to howl a bit and the snow seems to be getting harder the last 30 minutes.
