Damn, I'm suckered back in again. At this stage I have no idea what to expect in the morning. It will be a restless night.

I just started with the finest traces of snow. I had to go outside to verify what I was seeing.

The temps will rise when it starts to snow. Rising now I’m at 24*
Respectfully disagree. Temps will drop with the dew points so low. They almost always do with the onset of precip. Evaporation also cooling.
CP. you will get 6”. Radar looks awesome.
I’ll be up at 3:00 to check in. That last model has me at 1.25”. Close to 18” snow. Let’s all hope

For much of the night, I have been able to see the moon. But I can see the thicker clouds rolling in. I sure hope Manhattan gets the good snow out of this.....

It could be anything from 2-12 for me. I'm right on that battle zone, it will probably take, .5-.6 LE which the latest RGEM has me in, to get me to 10", definitely not out of the question but not expecting it either. 16 degrees right now.

Yep, can't be greedy that's when everything falls part. Going to bed expecting 2-4 but hoping for a nice surprise. It will be interesting just hopefully not disappointing. Good luck to all, I'm done for the night.

Math love the seinfield reference. Lets keep the west trend. I miss the storms of my youth when it would snow n&w of city and city would get a foot before change over. Def climate change.

Wow the radar is very impressive, well west and where is the main low now and wich way is it moving. BTW one thing I noted the winds on the hi res rgem are coming from the NW, I think it was Al (BTW where heck is he? He has not been on since yesterday morning, and this is looking great) Anyways al mentioned at the big windstorm we had last feb, that when winds come from the NW it seems to pan out, now I know this is a bit diff cuz the wind is going to be coming from the LP intensifying but its worth mentioning unless its going to change directions.

It’s confirmed. Snow now falling in Nassau County on LI. The signature of this puppy on radar is unbelievable.

Re: January 4th Mothrazilla: Final Call & Observations
Soul u think we might be upgraded to blizzard warnings, I read the LI one and its nearly identical to our WSW, no mention of 35mph sustained just says 50mph gusts just like ours does.SoulSingMG wrote:SoulSingMG wrote:Wow. I don’t think so up in Westchester where we are. Furthest west I see it going is Queens/Bkln. Remember, we would need all the parameters to meet a blizzard, including *sustained winds of 35mph for > 3 hrs.
