senjsnowman.....I think your right. I was saying 12-18 but I could be low on the 12 side. Your only what 10 miles north of me and yes snow rates are insane...Def 2-3 per hr.

Re: January 4th Mothrazilla: Final Call & Observations
The 700mb low is nicely stacked with the 500mb low. Some models, aka globals, were shooting the 700mb low east which is why most of the heavier precip remained off the coast.
Central and eastern LI are going to see snow amounts surpass 18 inches with this look. 700mb frontogenesis will produce snowfall rates of 3-4"/hour which is why the NWS circled this area in their last meso discussion.
The UL jet engulfs the entire storms. It extends as far west as Lake Ontario. I strongly believe this is one reason the SLP is taking a track resembling what the Hi-Res NAM was showing.
This will be a Godzilla storm for coastal NJ into Long Island. At this rate it's also possible NYC will see double digit snowfall amounts. We'll see how this look an hour or so from now.

Frank maybe the only thing stopping Godzilla here on the Island is the fast movement of the system

Oh, ok aha I thought you were well ahead of me and I was about to cry lol This place is a snow hole as it is, anyway :/ Probably mid-afternoon, like 2-4ish? I haven't been following details too closely since I didn't put out a forecast.

I am in E. Hampton about 2 miles south of Sag Harbor. Have whiteout conditions every few minutes. Hard to measure cause of the drifting. Averaged about 7" on my rear deck and really coming down. Temp has dropped to 27 from earlier 31 degree reading.

Really coming down people giving up driving and parking where they can on my street. My wife made it into work, her CEO cares more about money than anyones safety. The wind snapped a wood sign in half for a candidate I didn't like outside my building LOL flew away so fast I dunno where it went, hopefully not my car.
