The radar looks very impressive

All sleet and heavy way to warm actually I see a few flakes. Roads just wet. We will see.

Just started with heavy sleet here, temp at 32°, looks like it's trying to turn over to snow

Appropriately, I am heading to the Rangers vs. "Ice-Landers" (pun intended) hockey game in Brooklyn tonight. Anticipate any issues getting from Brooklyn to Nassau county later tonight? Or should the bulk of the storm be out of here.

It is plenty cold. Over achiever coming!

It was this way last year too snowing all around me and I was rain or sleet. I live in a storm cursed area. Is like to know what is causing that. Local Chemtrsils? Lol jk

At 221 PM EST, an area of heavy snow was located along a line
extending from near Alpha to Sheepshead Bay to 6 miles east of Robert
Moses State Park. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Islip, Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Paterson, Elizabeth,
Stamford, Flatbush, Norwalk, New Rochelle, Flushing, Passaic, Bayonne
and Brentwood.

Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in
this area of heavy snow. Snowfall rates will average between 1 and
2 inches an hour. Travel will be difficult and should be avoided
where possible.

Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly
refreezes.

And the flakes are very fine 30° dew point 23

Just watching the radar all morning, it doesn't appear the rain/snow line is moving north very fast at all. Given the intensity of the snow falling here right now, I would say this will overachieve on yesterday's projected totals in Central NJ and Northern NJ. Maybe not by a huge amount, but 1-3 could become 2-4 or even 3-5 in many areas I think.

26.5 with snowflakes the size of silver dollars (2"/hr rates). 4.25" on ground. Some dynamic cooling going on as the sleet line keeps getting kicked back.

First flakes in Allendale NNJ at 2:10PM

Hello all! Checking in from Hopatcong NJ here in southern Sussex county. It is RIPPING snow here, roads completely covered and already an inch of accumulation. So glad I left work early. This is GREAT!
