As mentioned above, heavy snow with some sleet still mixing.

Manorville, NY (about 55 miles East of NYC) is snowing some of the heaviest rates I've ever seen. Has to be 2-3 in/hour

Frank I’m worried about the temperatures steadily increasing in Brooklyn. When will they crash?

Clearly a historic snowstorm underway across the NYC Metro. With 9" reported in Central Park last hour, I cannot see a way 2 FEET (at least) of snow isn't reached when it's all said and done. Judging by radar, snowfall rates are going to exceed 3"/hr in Manhattan within the next 30 minutes.
I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM MISSING THIS.

18.2° with 7 inches of snow so far.
I have not been under any of the intense bands up here yet. Just benefiting from the great ratios I'm getting at these temps. I'm hoping to get under the heavy bands in a couple of hours. Fingers crossed.

We've had great banding and no mixing in Jersey City, this is some of the hardest rates I've seen without the usual slushy mix. Astonishing to watch.

Have about 6.5 inches on the ground in north west suffolk county. Snowfall rates have definitely increased in the past 20 minutes.

Very nice dendrites. Approaching 9" and the wind just gets wicked in these bands. I totally believe the RGEM and NAM runs at this point.

OMG im old im so worn out, its been a long time since I have had to shovel in shifts. 1st one down, about 8 inches so far, I think soulsing is right, now way 2 ft isn't pretty likely attainable or close. It is getting near blizzard conditions here, fine flakes no longer the heavy tissue paper flakes. Winds picking up. Glad i got proper snow gear, nice and warm when i am out.

yup, and your smart like me, you do not want to be shoveling 1 1/2 to 2 ft all at once, i have 2 cars to shovel out. i did one round as i said already and im pooped. we seem to have about the same 8 inches.frank 638 wrote:Heavy snow now Almost white out conditions

Well, after reading 12 pages from last night, I am caught up! Went out and shoveled about 8:30 am, nice light 8" of snow. Snowing and blowing pretty good, about 1"/hr rates easy. Glad everyone is getting the goods, going to try out my new anemometer next time I go out!
