Well, after reading 12 pages from last night, I am caught up! Went out and shoveled about 8:30 am, nice light 8" of snow. Snowing and blowing pretty good, about 1"/hr rates easy. Glad everyone is getting the goods, going to try out my new anemometer next time I go out!

The low level jet is coming to life. Hence these crazy bands coming off the ocean

If I'm getting blizzard conditions here. What must the coast be getting?

It is insane here on the island!!! they just keep redeveloping over the ocean and moving ever so slowly across the island.

Absolutely blitzing snow in Hillsborough, NJ. Was mixed with sleet but reverted back to all snow. 27 degrees.

If NWS doesn't consider this a blizzard not sure I've ever seen one.

They may need to rethink that criteria. Because I’m referring to the s*** show out my window right now as a Blizzard.

From Islandwide weather:
Looking at the radar... at this point as of 11:20 am, take whatever you have outside and add about 2-5” of snow in the next few hours. A dry slot looks to be approaching from the south. At that point, what happens next? Probably some sleet starts to mix in and possibly change to some showers especially east end and south shore Suffolk. IF the storm doesn’t push any further north, then the snow will continue all through the afternoon and night (but not many models are showing that). I would say get out there and do some shoveling after lunch before we possibly get into some mixing. Then we will keep an eye on the back end of the storm as the winds change direction and bring us some more snow at the end of the storm heading into tomorrow. -Glen

Re: February 1st-2nd Roidzilla, Part IV: Final Forecast
only add another 2-5 before a changeover and then maybe some back end? that would be a big bust if it happened or are they only taking LI? If not thats only like 12 inches here, NAM RGEM & others show at least another 12-15 at least.dsix85 wrote:aiannone wrote:From Islandwide weather:

East of the william floyd, might have an issue with the coastal front. West of there, there could be drizzle when the dry slot comes through, but damage done already
