snikeys!! They just keep raising and raising it, local mets better get on this, oh and Yonkers still has not treated any roads!! Other Frank did the Bronx treat the roads or New Rochelle? Yonkers hills and that will be a disaster lots of stranded people if they dare go out.amugs wrote:

Re: February 1st-2nd Roidzilla, Part IV: Final Forecast
right?!! Its rather surreal and I almost do not believe it, but I think the hammer comes down this time, everything is lining up for a prolific snowstorm and blizzard for the coast and even pretty far inland by looking at the wind maps, surprised NWS hasn't upgraded or at least upped totals on the WSW, i think they have a update at 6pm, prolly waiting for that.bloc1357 wrote:Not very often that the ENTIRE board on here gets in on the goods....Looks like this one is area wide and everyone cashes in!! So pre-treated roads only works so long. The roads, parking area around my complex was treated and when the snow started at Noon was just wet. It is now officially snow covered. This first wave of snow will make effective treating of the roads tougher as the heavier stuff kicks in tomorrow.

That band brought Bayville NJ our first measurable inch of snow since December 2019. Looks another one might be rolling in. All the kids on the block been playing for 2 hours already. Probably at 1.5" so far.

Are you kidding me SENJ that there has been no measurable snowfall down there in 14 months? That has to be a record of some kind then. Well congrats and hopefully many more inches of the white gold come your way!

The radar show snow over the whole tri-state area but at least here in New Rochelle nothing is reaching the ground, any idea when the virga will end and snow will hit the ground?

I have to say major props to algae and heehaw. Last weekend when many of us, ahem (me included), were focused on the system last Monday that fizzled and the one Thursday that never was, algae kept saying he was more interested in the 1/31-2/1 system. And heehaw kept asking if anyone else was as intrigued by the impressive setup for this system as he was. Those guys sniffed this out for what it seems to be waaaay in advance. I know others had their eye on this too (like mugs, Frank and sroc) but I just remember algae and heehaw harping on this event.

Thanks Bill. What I think I've been steadfast about is we don't have a bad pattern. Actually a good one that just needed a little help to kick start something. The -AO/-NAO gives us a very good chance at large scale events so long as there is cooperation from the Pacific. We also just needed a little more cross polar flow to bleed the cold air in from the TPV lobe that dropped into NE this weekend. What's frustrating as hell as how long it can take for these things to render something. Even in the best pattern we may not cash in if things don't line up.

Yeah, should be a right of passage to have a snow day. My kids are off too, snow day tomorrow with no zoom, but if Tuesday Tuesday weather is still bad they will be in zoom, which is fair
