Look at the temperatures in the East out in front of that. On Monday the GFS has single digit lows for almost all of NJ with freezing temps down to Florida. Watch those orange crops.

GFS puts us in the deep freeze starting next Sunday. Those who said the pattern would go cold from late Jan to mid Feb look to be vindicated.

Not many did. Many said Nina would take hold and we toechnfir Feb. PV splitbround two of the SAWE has done its job. All said a abnormally strong PV . They did not take in low solar for 2.5 years. 09-10 ring a bell? Same scenario with low solar.

I dont doubt. So Im going to ask you a favor. Can you make sure Friday/Saturday's rain doesnt wipe out the pack because it will stick around for another couple weeks if it can survive those 2 warm days.
You'll need a flamethrower and a fire hose to wipe out this snow pack. lol

Well if we do get a storm on Sunday, I may miss that one because I'm supposed to be down the shore for the Super Bowl. But after today, I think I can afford to miss out on that one. lol

Re: Long Range Discussions 21.0
GFS has the Sunday storm signal as well. Upper level trough over the East Coast. The northern energy and the southern energy never fully hook up until too late though which is why it doesn't blow up here like Euro storm. It does hit New England. But the signal is there. It's entirely possible the runs this week see those two pieces of energy come together like the Euro. Another week of tracking.
Also I'll say it again, look at those temps after the Super Bowl storm. Whew its gonna get cold.

Re: Long Range Discussions 21.0
18z GFS is still just missing the phase of the southern and northern energy until its a tad late for us. But it is right there. I can easily see where the GFS comes into agreement with the Euro in the next couple days.
The Heights out west actually look great, way up into Canada (hence that cold air pouring in behind this system), just need the trough to dig a little more in the east I think.

I dont understand, the 12z euro before the 2.7 storm shows 12 inches or so here, and 15 to my west encomasing this storm and then rises to 26 inches so thats more of a mothrazilla, or are we saying this has godzilla potential?

Haha! Jman, these winter storms are not making life easy on you. You might be Ok with the Fri to Sunday. I think the time frame on Sunday (though it can change) is later Sunday so maybe you can get back before it hits. Of course we're 6 days away so timing details are simply wild speculation right now.

I think it's the potential moreso than the verbatim right now.
