0.7 inches for this event puts the seasonal now at 50.5 inches right at the average for a full season. Happy that the extreme southern end of our forum finally jackpotted.

Ended up with a little over an inch with this one. I'm looking forward to the Saturday's event as the appetizer to hopefully something much bigger on Tuesday. We shall see.

That map is a bit inflated. I sticked 4” on the nose on the coldest surface I have (my truck bed) and since it’s stopped it’s already compacted down to 2-3” lol it’ll be gone by the weekend. But, at least I FINALLY got some this time around!!

Thanks, mom! It’s complicated haha I’m going to salvage it, as the flooding didn’t get too much worse than it was, so only the bases of my stuff were partially submerged after I lifted them up to the highest I could. But because it was salt water/bay water, I still have to take them apart and wash them down with soapy water so that they don’t rust. Since it’s winter and I’m alone, I actually ordered a POD so that I can take it all apart, wash it down, store it, and then empty everything else out of the garage so I can wash the salt and mud residue out of the garage before putting everything back.

The short answer: all of the complications from the COVID restrictions plus long, hard thinking about my social life, my aging grandmother who was living alone since my grandfather passed a couple years ago, and finances.
The longer answer: With everything locked down in NY, I was literally stuck in my studio apartment. Normally, it wouldn’t have bothered me, but with no gyms and inconsistent weather messing up my improvised gym sessions outside, I was miserable. So Memorial Day Weekend I decided to shelter here because my work’s office was still shut down with no signs of reopening anytime soon, as was the same for everything else, and I actually have my friends down here from spending summers in my younger days. I set up decent internet so my work performance wasn’t negatively affected, and I had the beach to escape to. As time went by, I started thinking hard about the pros and cons of actually going fully remote (if I could get approval from my managers), and the pros far outweighed the cons. I can have a social life year-round, I have the beach, I can build my own home gym in the garage which would allow me to train regardless of “the outside world”, I’m saving huge money on rent, I can watch and maintain the house during the off-season when my parents can’t get here as much, and I can look after my grandmother and keep her company. It just made sense all the way around.
And the savings on rent is going to allow me to explore very big ambitions in the near- AND longer-term. The trade off, though, is the snow. But with my parents still in NEPA, if a storm falls on my weekend, I can still chase it haha not to mention I can still enjoy doing firewood every year and exploring some ambitions there as well
