The craziest thing is when I was down South all those years, Olive Garden is almost the gold standard for Italian Food. They had wait almost every night for a table. If I ever ate there, my long passed Italian grandmother probably would have come to Tallahassee and slapped me.frank 638 wrote:the Olive Garden what’s the matter with u don’t ever say thatmikeypizano wrote:

In my defense, I was there once, someone took us, and I was young. I got the chicken alfredo and it tasted like cheap boxed crap off the shelf!

The winter that never was continues. More heavy snows out in the Sierras. I guess the climate alarmists will have to change their narrative to compensate for the best snowpack in years.
BTW once we hit March 15th you can keep the snow as I’ll be ready for gardening!
This has been a very easy winter at least for those of us who run!!

Whatever weather happens, the climate alarmists will fit it to their agenda.Happy CA will have more water anyway.
Years back when I had an organic vegetable garden at my home in Mahwah NJ, you could plant early stuff on St.Pats Day if late February and early march had warmed up and were dry so the soil was workable.Other years, like "93-'94 or '95-'96, the ground was frozen solid and snow covered to mid April.Think you will have a good March 15th this year the way things are going.

So true on the alarmists(including big time the Wx Channel). I do fear however that end up with much colder than normal weather in the spring which would severely limit my planting. I know Joe Bastardi is pounding the table on the horrible spring here in the NE coming up and I don't doubt the pattern does indeed shift to that to wreck our spring...

Winters of 2013-14 and 2014-15 ring a bell for us? WE had wau above normal snowfall and the west coast was snow deprived, fast forward 10 years and its our turn!!
This is the problem with warmth in Winter is that the heat flux then breaks down the PV in March and delays spring as we have seen the last number of years IMO. Bastardi has missed bigly on this winter but his ideas were interesting and his logic behind it and reasoning was truthful.
Time will tell and if we get a breakdown of the PV come late February and it decouples with the troposhere then spring gets delayed sadly. Be careful for what you wish for.

LOL Im with ya brother. Frustration is an extreme understatement. Euro now trying to mess with us. 500mb closes off and passes S of LI, as does 850 & 700. In another year I'd be optimistic. Ill believe a week from today...no sooner.

Yep. This Euro run was the sweet dreams I had a few nights ago. Trailing energy blows up off the Jersey Coast and provides us snow. Wasn't even significant just 2-4" type of deal was enough to have sweet dreams. But then I woke up to the horror of winter of '22/23 checked the models and had this expression.sroc4 wrote:heehaw453 wrote:My scientific analysis of the remainder of this "winter" season.

Re: Banter Thread 8.0
So my weather subscription service of choice which provides me with the models/data I follow comes up for renewal in December. I really only use it (for the most part) from December to April when trying to track winter storms. I think I can now conclude that my renewal was a waste of money as I can count on one had the number of times I've actually had to go on there to take a close look at a model run.

This is about the worst I've seen around here especially IMBY. Quite possible it's just about done IMBY and stay under 5" for the entire season. And you're right about the models because it's not like we're getting inside 5 days with promising scenario. Models are shutting it down way before then.billg315 wrote:So my weather subscription service of choice which provides me with the models/data I follow comes up for renewal in December. Right now as it has been all day, it looks like 6:30 am. Yet no rain is forecast. A tad depressing I say.

So scott, still think my bet was off? I am will to bet gentlemans bet (no one wants to see me in a bathing suit, its a Borat SwimSuit lmao). Unless we see late season snow I see this ending in even less than my worst year since on here which I think was 5 inches. it is in my signature what year that was.

There is zero doubt in my mind you will see zero snow Jon. In fact you most likely will have to wait until 24/25 to get any measurable snow. Too bad you didn’t take the bet. It was a sure winner. As they say in my world Jon...even the sun shines on a dogs ass from time to time. You were right.

DOC LMAO x1000!!!
I need his read log notes.about that storm and the Great Arctic Outbreak
Storm of..... 1899!!
Okay how ridiculous this winter reasons been. We have had numerous storm with a prime snow track and even wintry mix set up but no cold air in place for the storm. We did in LR discussions tales about caostals this year which have been but the cold air source has been lacking bigly. So frustrating. That blob in the NE PAC sure as heck did not give us a 13-14 type winter. Maybe precipitation wise in wetness amount but sure as heck not snow.
Weak Nino better happen next year in the fall through March as presently modelled

It's funny how the robins all arrive at once. Took a walk Sunday hardly a Robin to be found. Yesterday, they were absolutely everywhere.
Last year they arrived around Feb 13th. This year it was Feb 8th.
