I,ve been a weather buff for over 30 years now, and I have to honestly say that's the most ominous radar in the winter time I think I have ever seen!

I'm expecting a call from my boss in about an hour. I hope he knows what's about to come, and tells me to stay home.

Morning everyone, I am very surprised to wake to a bout a inch and very light snow, what happened to the heavy morning bands? Is it still coming, did the storm slow down, well I guess that answers my question about work lol, on my way.

Re: Archived: 2/13/14 Godzilla Storm
I'm expecting a call from my office around 6 too. Unfortunately, boss is likely getting weather reports from media outlets promising rain mid-morning and a "rainy afternoon." Radar has r/s line dancing south to north and south again just off the south shore of Long Island. Going to use my judgment and stay home safe today regardless, monitor this storm, and make a decision about Friday when we see how this plays out.

I was surprised myself.Been snowing since 12 AM and only one inch has fallen. Was thinking I'd see 2 or 3 with heavy snow by now.Looks like sleet already near Philly.

School closed! Also r/s line is pushing off the jersey coast as those heavier bands push in.

Re: Archived: 2/13/14 Godzilla Storm
Not impressed at all so far.Still just light snow here and temperature rising to 27 degrees. The way that radar looked at 1 AM, thought the heavy stuff would have been here a couple of hours ago.
NWS now has me 9 to 17 from 11 to 19.
NWS now has me 9 to 17 from 11 to 19.

Re: Archived: 2/13/14 Godzilla Storm
The extreme heavy banding in SNJ is the reason places up north don't have much snow, but that should start to change now that the bands are moving north
