It's no secret my feelings toward comrade Deblasio, this is just another example to confirm them.

We really have to give credit to CP here. He single handily got the Zookeeper of Central Park to correctly measure snowfall.

I have come to the realization that most TV Mets do not like to take risks of outputting extreme snowfall amounts. I do not really understand why because even if they bust low, you can still use the logic that you mis-informed the public and now they're stuck inside. Whereas if you went high, they probably prepared and you can fall back on "better safe than sorry"

So...no CP. I have not figured it out.

Folks, just an observation from the maps - if the H5 stays closed as the storm moves up and tucks in by the BM we could see up to 12"+ IMO from the heavy deformation bands that will most likely set up from EPA - all the way to NYC and the HV - insane bandage folks is on the horizon.

My buddies who are custodians at my school have abandoned snow cleaning/removal operations and are going home - NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!! They said they need an Excavating company to come in with front bucket loader to move the snow.

Thank you Frank,

I guess the lesson here is contact the right people and just be persuasive but polite and sometimes they will actually listen and do something. I wish now I had done that 35 years ago when they blew the February 1978 blizzard totals. Of course that was during the dark ages, there was no e-mail, internet or cell phones then and I was only in high school.

The question still remains how long will they stay on top of things.

7 for 7 so far since I complained, hope it continues. If it doesn't I may have to enlist the help of the board, there's power in numbers.

1st call snow map for Saturday storm out by 5pm today. Expect at least another 3-6+ inches of snow tonight, with potential of up to 10 inches or more. As long as the H5 trough closes off we will see high snowfall amounts. If it opens back up, more on the lower end.
