Not to make you jealous Doc, but I was the proud owner of a 1971 Chevy Vega. Motor Trends car of the year! Yup, lasted about a year.

Re: General Banter
LOL, how many head gaskets did that Vega blow out with the aluminum head and steel block? As WC Fields might have said...."Ah, yes, the old dissimilar metal theory...!"
Far cry from the 265 V 8 GM Engineers designed over a kitchen table in '54 and put into production immediately.I had a '51 Chevy with that monster Blue Flame 6 cylinder. The 265 was 50 pounds LIGHTER,LOL!
The only people who I think were happy with that vega were the Japanese who sold cars by the bushel to pissed off Americans. The Big Three lost their Mojo in the 70's selling gas guzzling rust buckets.
Got a lot of stories about people pissed off at US Cars and went foreign!
BTW, that Motor Trend Editor making Vega COTY should be shot,LOL!

CP, since I posted the question above, will it jinx the Bostonian snow lovers?
Nice strategy Math. We should know if it's working by the end of this weekend. If it does you're a conquering hero, if not a valiant try.
With today's snow, Boston set a new seasonal snowfall record. As of the last update, they're at 108.6" on the season, breaking the 1995-96 record of 107.6". If we were all in Boston instead of NYC, I would want for this to be the last snow of the season so that future winters have a shot of breaking the record. But to put this in context, prior to January 24th, Boston had just 5.5" of snow on the season. The least snowiest season on record is 9.0" from 1936-37. So in that span it went from least snowiest to snowiest!
By the way, CPK needs 33.2" of snow the next couple of months to break it's seasonal record of 75.6" from 1995-96. 50" may be in reach as it needs 7.5" to do so. Only 17 times has CPK officially measured 50" on a season, but there are two seasons where I believe it got robbed of doing so: 1887-88 (45.6" on the season, 21" measured from March 1888 blizzard, which should have been much more) and 2002-03 (49.3" on the season, President's Day 2003 had 19.8", which to me is an under-count).

Man, this reminds me of that old expression, "The rich get richer." Didn't realize they even got snow up there, thought it was going to be all rain.
Those under counts at CPK will always distort any comparisons to that certain City up there because they have someone who accurately measures snow.I'll bet even the record 75.6 inches was plagued with undermeasured snowstorms as well.

CP brought up two snow events from 1995-96 that were likely undercounts: December 19-20, 1995 and the Blizzard of January 7-8, 1996. I wonder if CPK would have had 85" then if its measurements were similar to surrounding areas.

Scroll down and see my age group (64). Women outnumber men at that age all over the country.I showed this to my Fiancee Rita to have her see she better treat me right or I'll be off into little old ladyland,LOL.

Taffy, If I was single again, I wouldn't even consider any lady under 60!Gotta be with someone who went through the 50's, 60's and 70's and can relate to you.
So many women today over 60 are gorgeous. When I was a kid in the 50's a 60 year old women had a bun hairdo, a long black dress to the ankles and big chunky, clunky shoes,LOL!

Building explosion and collapse on E 7th street and 2nd Ave in Lower Manhattan. Looks like a few apartment buildings. Possibly gas related.

The Galaxy Edge is awesome. It's all voice controlled I hardly even touch it. The design is incredible and the videos are crystal clear HD. The lighting system is even cooler...and it's fast as heck. Best phone I ever owned and when I went to pick it up the day it came out the guy said I took the last one. It's pretty much sold out now.

Sorry Frank, but from my viewpoint, no phone is worth paying $800 for no matter how good it may seem to you. But if you're happy, that's all that really matters I guess. Good luck with it. Maybe in a couple of years you'll be able to upgrade to the G10 for $1,000.00

GreyBeard no way would I pay that amount of money for a phone. I paid $60 for it. I'm on a contract with Verizon and was due for an upgrade.

I knew you were smarter than that Frank. I'm with T-mobile and they did away with contracts but they charge outrageous amounts for the phones now. If I wanted to that particular model (S6) I'd be charged an extra $32 a month for 24 Months and if I decided to leave them, full remaining balance is due. They are charging same price for I-phone 6.Needless to say I don't buy my phones from them anymore, but on the upside, I'm on a family plan with unlimited talk and text and 2.5 GB a month per line for $100, can say adios at any time with no termination fees. Glad you got a good deal for yours, it sounds like you are very happy with it so all is good.
