Doc I remember years ago when Stern was on regular radio he used to play that all the time. What the hell was Shatner thinking when he recorded that, hystercial.

He also use to play a recording that Shatner did of "Hey Mr. Tambourine man". Bob Dylan and the Byrds both should have sued.

CP, Shatner's singing is off the charts hysterical.He must have dropped acid doing those songs.

My great grandma in Italy is not doing very well. She just turned 98!! God bless her. I remember when she use to live in America I would be at her house often as a kid. HUGE garden. Literally, could feed all of NJ.

Rita's Dad had a huge garden as well.That comes out in our Italian genes.God Bless!!!!!

Frank. I'll say a prayer for your great grandma as well. To Doc's point. My 4 grandparents (3 Italian and 1 Croatian) lived to be 93,90,91 and 97. They all had diets of tons of meat, butter and Italian cold cuts. But tons of wine, homegrown vegetables and garlic and olive oil on everything.

For the Jersey guys and gals.....

SO it has been 3 weeks now my mother in law has been in the CCU at Columbia Prys. hospital from multiple heart attacks, surgury (many) for stents (which even got clogged, the doctors were baffled by this), stroke, its just been the the works. Obviously this has had a bearing on why I have not posted much. I need everyones prayers, she has since come out of sedation but now mental issues are showing and we hope they are not permanent. The holidays are going to be somber this year which is very hard so if I ever get snappy at all please tread lightly as I am going through a lot. Thanks all

So sorry to hear you and your wife are going through this difficult time.My beloved Rita's Mom passed at age 90 in May after she fell and broke her hip and she had a stroke after the operation, kidneys were failing and her heart wasn't pumping well.It was her time.Your mother in law sounds like a fighter so I will pray that she makes a FULL recovery and you, your wife and families will feel better.God Bless!!!

Sorry to hear that jman, but Columbia is the best place to be. Great doctors and nurses, my dad was in CCU many years ago and even then the strength of the staff was amazing. Will keep you all in my prayers...

Thanks guys, now my sister in law ended up in the ER, she is 35 and had a heart attack (big one) two years ago, but she is home now but has to take it easy. Mother in law is awake and being quite the feisty one, good sign but she is disoriented and appears to maybe have suffered some dementia, we will see as time goes on. Been in CCU almost a month now, step down to a room is next. I do not see release to home anytime soon. Very hard on my wife and the rest of that side of the family, its hard for me too as it has turned our lives upside down.

Tough times with your family Jman. I wish you all well and will be praying.

Forgot to mention Nov.9th was the 50th anniversary of this.Anybody here old enough to remember? I was playing touch football with buddies in Fort Lee and noticed the Empire State Building, which we could see from our street, went dark!

Great grandmother passed away last night. She was 98. Heaven gained a special angel. I'll tell you what, this woman lived a special life. I don't think I'll ever meet a person with as much spirit, wisdom, and toughness.

I locked the Cali shooting thread. I just felt the conversation was becoming a little too political and I rather keep politics completely off this forum. Nothing against anyone, just want to diffuse political debates before they get out of hand. No matter what, there is a mass shooting trend in this country and it needs to be stopped regardless of how we get there.

No problem, Frank.

There were no hard feelings at all on my part on anything there.I like everybody on this board but there are going to be differences of opinion on any issue.We need more civilized and rational discussion of those issues with respect for others who do not agree with us but I agree here is not the place for it.

Now, on to bigger and better things such as a pattern change for us snowaholics!!!!!

Amen Doc. We're still fighting my generation's Pearl Harbor right now. However I fear that we will let your generation down because mine does not seem to have the balls to do what is necessary to win. Instead we blame ourselves.
