Amen Doc. We're still fighting my generation's Pearl Harbor right now. However I fear that we will let your generation down because mine does not seem to have the balls to do what is necessary to win. Instead we blame ourselves.

No Jimmy, you guys have the guts to do it right, it's the damn politicians who are screwing it up, like Korea, Nam and these latest wars.
I remember reading a story about some Kraut General captured in WWII who said that the toughest troops the Germans faced were the Americans. Why? I read one of the reasons was American kids all played baseball and could throw a hand grenade right through the slit in Kraut pillboxes from a distance,LOL! Ach du liber, Hans, vos is los,LOL!
We are going to win this war and our young men and women will do the job!

Nonna called.
We're having over 10 different types of fish for dinner Christmas Eve.
Then I called my other Nonna because it's her birthday. She said we're having lasagna Christmas Day. Good lord I'll need to rent out the gym to myself come the weekend.

Sounds like my family! 7 fishes Christmas Eve and then eggplant parm and ravioli Christmas Day with any leftover fish. Oh, and countless cookies!

Same meal plan here. Except on Christmas we also do about an hour of all the traditional Italian cold cuts and antipasto with my moms homemade tortellini soup. My favorite. I'm not eating starting today at lunch.

All this food talk is making me hungry I was just curious, does anybody actually drink any enjoy eggnog? And Frank, I bet gym memberships probably get their most new member signups right after the new years with everyone swearing they are going to turn over a new leaf and get in shape. Everyone enjoy and don't hold back, life is too short.

My family LOVES eggnog! I have to buy many half gallons they drink so much. They don't care for the homemade stuff though, but I grew up on it.

And check out the "Who is Online?" portion of the home page? especially the "Members connected during last 24 hours" section! It reminds me of the last two winters while tracking the snowstorms!

I wanted to encourage lurkers to sign up. During big storm threats they may have questions they wouldn't be able to ask as guests.

Sorry Frank, but gotta disagree with you on this one. You are now saying that this website doesn't allow anyone to come on just to read posts. You are forcing people to signup. I, for one mostly come on here just to read posts, and now I'm required to sign in every time. Looks like you are just trying to push your numbers up. If anyone had any questions during big storm threats, wouldn't they just sign up then if their questions had such a need to be answered? Shouldn't they be the ones to decide? You are taking that choice away. You say you are "encouraging" people to signup when you are really requiring them to do so. This is the first time I've ever seen a forum use this tactic.
I enjoy this forum and all of the knowledgeable people on it, but this just rubbed me the wrong way.

There are paid for graphics that are posted on the site on a daily basis. Weatherbell, StormVista, etc. Guests should not have the same privilege to view these graphics like registered members do. Also, you can remain signed in. It's not like you have to sign in everytime you visit the site. There's an option for that. I have no "numbers" to avhieve. There are no advertisements on this forum for registered users. It's as if you sound like I'm trying to profit from this website. I am not.

I had a feeling you were going to take this the wrong way. Just a little constructive criticism is all. Looks like I struck a nerve. You always point out when people try to put words in your mouth which is exactly what you are doing here."It's as if you sound like I'm trying to profit from this website. I am not." Never said that nor did I imply it. As for remaining signed in, well that is something I prefer not to do on any website. Also, the reason I posted here is because this is where it was started by someone, and responded to by you.

Im Sorry Grey beard. Although you didn't exactly come out and say it, statements like "This is the first time I've ever seen a forum use this tactic." certainly imply something. That could have been interpreted many ways. And to be honest your statement touched a nerve for me. Frank busts his but for free week in and week out. And if signing in is the only thing that you need to do to be a part of a great weather enthusiest community without ads and BS so be it. We do post paid site info on here all the time. I don't think its too much to ask to simply sign in to read about the weather.

When you insist this is some sort of "tactic" or me trying to "push numbers up" I'm not sure how you expect me to respond. Bottom line, there are graphics I should not even be posting publicly that I am. There are guests, who in the past, try to take these graphics and spread them on social media. If anyone tries to do that I can at least tie it back to a registered member and let them know not to do it.
If I can make it so it's only one thread that gets blocked from guests I would. But this platform doesn't allow it.
