BUDGET RENT A CAR READ: NEVER RENT FROM THEM - SCUM BUSINESS ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM

I have been in a fight with Budget Rent a car since March over the aspect they charged me $50 to clean my rental car. No where in teh black and white contract that they gave me, I had a friend who is lawyer look it over, agreed that this was bs charge. After an hour of speaking with representatives and a manager they will not strike this charge. The sit being the car was brought back at night at 8:30 - oh an hour earlier that what was in my contract and also they did not have the car ready for me that I wanted and then the guy at the counter gave me a bs excuse and tried to put me in a lower level car at the higher car price but I caught him - had to look up online on my phone. Then I brought the car back at night and I look at my credit card (AMEX) and the charges are $53 more than what I signed for on my contract. They said they had top send teh car out to be cleaned! REALLY - I removed all the garbage which amounted to 3 bottles, a few wrappers and a pencil. Some crumbs yes but nothing like covered mats or seats. Also I asked the service rep Gloria don't you have to clean the car anyway for the next customer?? She said yes but yours was excessive? I said explain to me what your company deem s as excessive - "well, wrappers, bottles, seats covered with debris, floor mats covered with debris" - I asked if they have proof that this was and she said well no but our service technician (nice name for a guy who works the counter at the rental - one man show - trailer literally) wrote it up - hmm - wasn't this the same guys who I had words with 2 days before - could he have been pissed and wanted to take it out on me - how would you know? Her answer was silence. Then I said politely so can see why I would like this absurd charge removed and she gave such a company line and then said well we did not charge you for the hour that you brought teh car back late - I said WHATTTT? Let me speak to a supervisor or manager and this person was an even bigger ahole. Long end of the short DO NOT AND I MEAN THIS DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET they will nickel and dime you and things that are not in your contract they will make up and nail you on. Please pass this along to all you know and I am serious I have rented cars before from Alamo, Hertz, Avis etc in my travels and NEVER had I had an experience like this from the moment I walked in to get my reserved car (I was 45 min late and the car still wasn't ready - they wanted me to wait another 30-45 minutes so they can get me my reservation just for this they should have eaten the cleaning fee!)

Hertz was no bargain when I once rented from them, I have used Enterprise and Alamo and Avis with no problems. Hertz wanted us to use these kiosks in Denver, and they charged us for an upgrade we didn't want. They then said they couldn't credit our credit card right away, we had to wait. This is at the beginning of a 2 week vacation with the fam, and all this extra money charged to our card that was now not available. Took 2 days for them to credit our card.

It says Sales Tax would go down from 7 to 6 percent...but I consider gas a necessity. Ugh!! Awful. I drive to Hackettstown everyday from Cranford

Cheap gas stays in place less than $2 a gallon by me $1.89 a gallon at Pilot on RT 17 in Mahwah.
The legislation voted it down on the gas tax. More bs in the state

If anyone is around down the shore, Ryan (Quietace) and I are going to get together in the Point Pleasant area on August 23rd before he goes back to school. I know it's a Tuesday, but it's his only day off. I will be down the shore for vacation from the 20th to Labor Day weekend. We could probably make it an evening gig if anyone wants to hang out.....

I wouldnt call this banter but its not weather either. I just got home from being in the hospital since last friday evening and having had laproscopic surgery to remove a full blockage of my small intestine. The pain came on fast and intense and its a good thing it was taken care of quickly. I am home now and on the mend, feel pretty good since it was laproscopic there isn't really any paid at the 3 incision sites and other than getting my system back into normal gear I just have to take it wasy for a week or so.

I am sorry to hear that you had this happen to you!...just lucky it was not much worse and that you are on the mend!! take it easy...and to a speedy recovery!!

Hey everyone I just got back from punta cana I was there with my family we had a excellent time time there we stayed at the riu palace .the weather in punta cana was not bad we had highs in the low 90s not to humid .I know in NY and nj was worse with the high humidity and high temperatures yuck

I never thought I would have to take an extended break from the forum. But it has happened since things have been hectic for yours truly the last month or so. In fact, next month, I am set to begin my first permanent actuarial-related position. I had been doing some temp work up until a few months ago and now I will be going into some more depth. I am currently pursuing my ASA so I really can’t spend much time on here as I used to. Of course, if we get a hurricane like Irene or Sandy to will cause havoc on the northeast or we get an early-season snowstorm, I will be on this forum pretty frequently. Otherwise, don’t expect much from me for the next three months at least.

Math, good to hear about the permanent position and I was worried that you had not been posting.Glad that everything is OK and you are gainfully employed in something you like.Good luck and it will be great if we do get something interesting soon to track as somebody posted this summer weather, although beautiful at times, is pretty boring,lol, albeit the T Storms.

Best of luck to you Mikey. I hope you do find some time to check in from time to time with or without weather. I too have been on hiatus for a good portion of the summer. Mostly because the weather has been boring. Frank good luck to you with your masters. Are you still going to be working or are you going back to school full time?
