Thanks Doc. On a related note I'm so happy to see the NFL losing money and ratings tanking. I for one would love a civil war by the way.

I don't mind protesting, it's a free country, but what these NFL guys are doing , kneeling for the National Anthem, is not only against the NFL rulebook, but totally disrespectful. In my 25 years of operating a Dental Office, I talked to too many family members of families who lost loved ones in the wars fighting for this country and who were suffering terribly from those losses.I'll never watch another football game again.

Just read the sad news that Tom Petty overdosed on pain killers due to a broken hip.We older Boomers are getting brittle and frail and it behooves us to be very careful in the use of any prescription drugs given to ameliorate pain.

It's very interesting you bring that up Doc. Of course I was saddened on October 2 when Tom Petty left us but I never quite bought the heart attack angle. He was 66 years old but always appeared to be throughout his life in fairly good shape. He did have his bout with drugs in the 90s just like all of these guys at one time in their lives or more, but he did overcome it for 20 years.
Because he had just come off their 40th anniversary tour which was 53 dates and I'm sure very exhausting for anyone that age, I said to my wife the day after he died, "they can say heart attack or whatever they want but I feel he kind of worked himself to death". Ultimately by touring with a broken hip and several other ailments the doctors had prescribed three painkillers to help him get through the tour, he ultimately did work himself to death.
What a shame, one of my top three of all time and really should be here with us still. Basically the same type of death that took Prince.
One of the big life lessons I took from his death even before knowing for sure about the painkillers was I had a chance to see them play in Atlanta when they were touring this year and to take one of my sons and his fiancée who were both big fans, and I happen to be down there at the time. I went online because obviously everything was sold out. It was the week before the show and the cheapest decent seats I could get on ripoff stub hub were about $250. I could afford it but it sounded a little rich for my taste and I said I'll see them the next time they come around. Of course there will be no other time around. At our age you just can't put things off, and really at anyone's age. There are no guarantees for tomorrow only today, it was actually the first thing I thought of when I heard that he died. I was kicking myself in the ass for not shelling out the extra for that show. Yeah it was a lot of money but it would've been a memory I had forever with my kids that I can't have now. Lesson learned.
As a side note I had changed my avatar last night when I heard they found the reason for Tom Petty's death, to a picture of him performing at Super Bowl XLII when the Giants beat New England. What a great day that was for both reasons.

CP, great lesson to be learned! At age 67, I'm coming around the 3/4 turn on the racetrack of life. Here's the thing about money.I could have a billion dollars on my table this morning.Sound great? Well, I can't buy five minutes of time with my Dad who died in 2004 or if a doctor tells me "buddy, get your affairs in order you have 3 months with inoperable cancer" that money is worth jack!We come in broke, and should die broke and enjoy it while you can. When I passed 62, my whole body started to break down, knees, hips etc etc. There was an old song in the 40's, "Enjoy yourself it's later than you think"!
I remember that game clearly as for 26 years when I was living alone in my own house, I hosted a "Stupor Bowl"Party that ran from Friday night to Monday morning,LOL.

So if Frank buys a house, will he have a registry for us? I can see it now: Home Depot gift cards, tools, blinds, appliances, water softener, paint, brushes, lawn mower, garage refrigerator for beer...the essentials.

I saw you, Alex, and Bill on 12/30/17. I haven't seen Frank or Scott since 11/14/15. I haven't seen docstox or skinsfan since 6/14/15. And I haven't seen Ryan, James, amugs, algae, or jman since 1/10/15.
Also, as I have mentioned before, I did not attend the 11/5/16 meetup as I instead went to a Penn State football home game.
And CP is the one person I would REALLY like to meet!

I will probably be studying for an exam in June then going on vacation through early July. Which would leave a period of several weeks for me to head to the Jersey Shore before you leave. Let me know your work schedule when you get it. More importantly, make sure you don't get called into work when I'm on my way there like what happened on 6/14/15.
