Re: January 4th Mothrazilla: Final Call & Observations
Blizzard condition hee morning everyone.
Hey Math23x7 how's it goung?
DeBlasio made the right call and it ain't busting like you always hope things would.
Moderate blowing snow.
Heavy band swingong in.
Precipitation field on the Western flank is a bit stronger than depicted by some models.
Sroc safe travers my man.

You addressed the storm as both male and female in one sentence. Very America 2018 of you, Al. So proud!

Re: January 4th Mothrazilla: Final Call & Observations
Winds in southern coastal ocean county gusting over 40. I want to say 7-8 in on ground hard to tell with blowing snow. Some spots 12-15" due to drifting. Very heavy band of snow coming through. Maybe 2" hr?

23* light to moderate snow here. Wind continues whipping. Tough to get accurate measure with wind but I’d say we’re about an inch.

Re: January 4th Mothrazilla: Final Call & Observations
A few inches piled up quickly. Still coming down hard, very windy. This is by far the most intense WWA storm I remember, deceptively low criteria for the current conditions. Definately blizzard-like out there.

I haven’t seen these kind of rates since the blizzard of Feb 2013

Bridgewater, winds definitely here. I would say about 1.5 -2 inches. Surprised winds made it this far inland along with some heavier bands recently.

Approaching 2 inches in Nutley. That death band is moving in now with ripping snow. My amounts will climb quickly from here on out.

Made it to work in Brooklyn. Crazy snowfall rates - very fine and small flakes but pouring down. Look at that band right over BK/NYC

Same here in Parsippany. Lots of wind and drifting snow, but I can still see the tips of grass blades most places on the lawn. So not much snowfall yet.billg315 wrote:23* light to moderate snow here. Wind continues whipping. Tough to get accurate measure with wind but I’d say we’re about an inch.

Wow, nice pics man!!! Careful out there.
This storm was maybe 50 miles away from being a Godzilla. If NYC was included in the higher amounts I would have pulled the trigger. It is definitely one for you (and others).
