Re: January 2020 Observations and Discussion
I'm getting into a nice little band now. Best rates of the storm so far. There's a nice band near Trenton that would really bring out the inner weenie in me. 50 miles probably too far, but I'll watch it.

There is some impressive band in Burlington and Ocean NJ. Wonder what that rendered?
I'm about winding down here. An inch for me and I take that as an act of mercy in this pattern. Squeezed out 2 inches in two days.

Re: January 2020 Observations and Discussion
Ended with about 3/4” of wet snow accumulation on the colder surface and grass. As soon as the intensity dropped off so did the accumulation and compaction almost immediately.

Nothing. zero accumulation. Don't expect much this winter, so can't really be disappointed. Maybe some baseball practice with the kids this weekend. 28°F right now.

Re: January 2020 Observations and Discussion
Everyone's phone alarms in the office went off because of a NWS issued a snow squall warning for our area.
I am in Hackettstown, NJ and currently under the squall. It is not as impressive as the one from last month but still pretty cool.

A look into this weekend...temps in the mid to upper 60's ahead of a very powerful cold front that is expected to bring severe weather to the Mississippi Valley.
Warm temps Saturday and Sunday morning. Then once the cold front passes on Sunday, in the early evening, temps will crash by 20-30 degrees in some spots. Rainy day Sunday

30.6° with moderate snow, bordering on heavy.
Grass and driveway already white, would like to squeeze an inch out of this if possible.

Snow squall winding down, officially 0.5 inches. Not bad for a 25 minute event.

Re: January 2020 Observations and Discussion
It's like another world up here. I was in Sullivan county last night and it squalled pretty good. It didn't freeze but it coated. Back to Orange and nothing. Today, a low of 15 about 6 and now the sun is up. It's off to the races. Looking forward to Sat and Sun to be able to move some firewood up to the house and go through my IPAs and Pilsners after.

Morning low of 16.7 which feels awfully cold but is exactly normal for the date. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve had three weeks of above normal temperatures.
