Re: 2021 Tropical Season
GFS and ICON both continue to show 3-5 inches for the area mid week. 00z Euro also show a couple inches NYC metro. Could be problems. Im not sure why my avatar is so big.

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
looks like it, no way the entire area will be able to evacuate as they are mandating, thats literally millions of people. That would take probably a week to do maybe more. Sadly I think there may be a lot of lives lost from this one. People stupidly staying and people trying to get out why can't due to gridlock.amugs wrote:RI taking shape.

Jman that is 2hy u have an evacuation plan in place and u call up all the resources u need to get the job done. It is a massive concerted effort BUT that is why unplan and do exercises. No excuses. 48 hours notice. Lazy and complacent by govt officials again.
We are going to get flooding rains again wed/thurs.
She is RI and continues to pressure dropping. By this rate she will be a sub 950 storm by landfall at this rate. Her winds should catch up and she is a tad more east than the mean path. NOLA IS FLUXED by the 10-15' storm surge and flooding rains of 10-16" plus.

The convergence of dire factors here is the worst I've seen. Wind + Rain + Surge is the terrible trifecta and they all appear to be worst case scenario already and yet still worsening...

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Oh my Lord this is going to be catastrophic. Holy poop I thought sub 950 easily but she took of RI overnight. Jesus H AND THEY DID NOT EVACUATE NOLA A FRIGGIN BOWL 6'BELOW SEA LEVEL in some areas. It's a swamp and nature will reclaim it again. God help those in her way.
To Frank's point for us.
From Pro Met I follow.
I know it's hard to think about now... but if applicable- you shoudl start preparing here in the tri-state for a potential 4-7" rain even next week from the remnants of #Ida - flood concerns will be significant

Jeeze Idea when from 105 late last night to almost cat 5!! There is going to be nothing left down there. This is aweful, cannot even imagine. And if you stayed, god help you. Did any of you see the NWS discussion, it was the most bold and downright blunt thing ive ever seen from them.
