Insame, I did not even think a gust that high was possible in a 155mph storm. What time is landfall approx, i see that hurricane windfield is over land already. Any webcams still working, both the ones posted went out.

IAN goes back out over the Hotlantic and strengthens to a CAT 1 before making a second landfall somewhere in the Charleston region.

Don't doubt the EURO!!

My brother is riding it out in Cape Coral. I'll let you guys know how he makes out. The only concern he had where he is is the roof. He has hurricane shutters and put his trucks against the garage door so it doesn't blow in, his house is on a little knoll about 15' above street level. He prepped all last week, cases of water, extra propane for the grill, filled his very large car size propane tank that supplies his generator. Not sure when I'll hear from him... They just talked to the fire chief in Cape Coral on CNN, he said surge wasn't too bad first time through, but concerned about the back end surge... preliminary damage reports are some roofs damaged/blown off.

You guys see what Euro, CMC and ICON try to do with the remnanats, we get some rain looks like Sat (how likely is that, I have outdoor plans in NJ) and then a LP reforms a TD? off jersy shore and skims to the ENE. Ian still has surprises.

Any idea when conditions will improve in Fort Myers Beach? Father in law decided to ride it out at home. Has already had to evacuate to a neighbor’s house that is raised and has a second story. Looking to see when we might feel more comfortable that he’s in the clear.

My buddy in Ft Meyers hasn’t responded to me but his son texted me this from a short while ago. His house and the neighbor across the way are up about 6’ relative the road that is in between them. But if you zoom in on the house in the top left of the image he said that’s what the majority of the neighborhood looks like.
